MTV Networks/Viacom today joined the growing number of business leaders signing onto the Equality Business Advisory Council to show their opposition to Proposition 8. Prop 8 would eliminate the fundamental right of same-sex couples to marry in California by amending the state's Constitution.
"On November 4th, Californians have the unique opportunity to go to the polls and stand up for what makes this a great country and a free society -- inclusivity, freedom and respect for all. Proposition 8 is antithetical to those principles and a vote for ignorance, hatred and inequality," said Judy McGrath, Chairman and CEO, MTV Networks. "MTV Networks and the Equality Business Advisory Council urge all Californian voters to send the right message and uphold the rights of same-sex couples in California, by voting 'NO' on Prop 8 on Election Day."
MTV Networks/Viacom joins the Equality Business Advisory Council to take a public stand against Proposition 8.
"We are thrilled to welcome MTV Networks/Viacom as one of a growing number of national and California businesses leaders that have become part the NO on Prop 8's Equality Business Advisory Council," said Geoff Kors, NO on Prop 8 Executive Committee Member.
Other business leaders within the Equality Business Advisory Council include PG&E, Levi Strauss & Co., Google, Sweet, the Morgan Hotel Group, San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, California Black Chamber of Commerce, San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce, Valley Industry and Commerce Association, and the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

Will these business leaders feel the same when Muslims ask for equal protection for multiple wives? Will businesses have to pay the insurance for all of their wives?

Are we supposed to be impressed that MTV is in favor of homosexual marriage?
Tax sodomy.

Michael Savage has always warned about the gay lobby wanting to destroy the U.S. as it is. He’s derided about it all the time.
Exactly! there is NO fundamental right. Where do these jackasses come up with this crap. We have to shut down this idiot meme before more sheep start to regurgitate it.
No on Prop 8
Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a persons fundamental rights including the right to marry should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8.

I'm a Mac user myself and I knew full well buying my Mac that this was a pretty leftist company. Even this news probably won't make me want to get rid of it. I'm not sure if this is something to consider when buying a Mac/getting another one. Just thought I'd share this that caught my eye today when I opened my browser.
MTV has become pure filth over the years. I would never let my kids watch that cesspool.
Viacom also runs Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, and Noggin.
Even blocking MTV from unsuspecting children doesn't negate the fact consumers still subsidize their filth.
No Media Bias, huh?
Yep. Americans' cable bills are funding this activism.
People must choose between having lots and lots of entertainment options and having a society with minimal standards of decency.
notice they don’t mention Florida’s proposition 2.
why?
because proposition 2 gets out the conservative vote.
