5 Reasons Why McCain/Palin Can Still Win Michigan (Vanity)
October 24, 2008 | no dems

Even though the McCain Campaign has pulled out of Michigan, I think they can still win the State on November 4. Here are 5 Resons why I believe MI can be in the GOP column on Election Night:

#1. 80% of Michigan's black population lives in the City of Detroit. The rest of the State is predominantly White folks who have loathed every Black Mayor Detroit has had going back to the days of Coleman Young. Detroit and the suburbs have a long history of racial tension. How many of you are old enough to remember Detroit burning in 1967?

#2. There are many Southern folks who live in Michigan. They came up from the South to work in the auto factories. They will definitely insure that the Bradley Effect of 6%(+) will kick in on Election Day.

#3. The people of Michigan are outraged that their Democratic Governor, Jenny "I wanna be Marilyn Monroe" Granholm, was reelected in '06 when the State was in economic turmoil at the time. Since then, Michigan has the dubious honor of having the second worst economy in the nation, and they blame Jenny, not the Bush White House and they want to "punish" the Democrats.

#4. In northern MI and in the upper peninsula, there are a gazillion hunters and outdoorsmen who, like Pennsylvanians, cling to their God and guns and they do not like B. Hussein.

#5. There is a very strong Evangelical and Catholic presence in Michigan. The Evangelicals who stayed home in '04 (when Kerry just barely defeated Bush in the State) and '06 will not stay home this year.

Well, that's it. Every Presidential Election year, Michigan get closer and closer to being a Red State. This year, even though McCain has pulled out of the State, I think "I'm seeing Red".

probably not.....they pulled out and SE michigan is locked up for the commies....western michigan is in an economic tailspin. I see all kinds of Obama signs......some in people who I know used to be supporters of the Republican candidate.

I will be shocked if they come back. I would rather see them take Penn or the FUZZY NUT state. I want them to take florida. Something tells me the October surprise will be a doozey this year

And if you could cut Philadelphia off from the rest of Pennsylvania, then it would be a red state.

If you could cut off upstate New York from New York City, it would be a red state.

If you could remove L.A. and S.F. Bay area from California, what remained would be a red state.

Lots of states could be Republican leaning if the heavily Democrat cities were not part of those states.

What about union households which have swallowed the Kool-Aid for 100 years and continue to pass the the poison along to their kids?

My state has been in the bottom two of most statistical categories for over 150 years. Yet the people continue to elect the same one-party legislature and the same one-party local politicians.

150 years doing the same thing in the voting booth with no real statistical advancement relative to other states. Hard to figure the thinking.

Well, Arkansas isn’t alone in that respect. Look at Massachusetts. Just bizarre.

I lived in MI for 10 years and was a member of the UAW. Not by choice by MI is not a “Right to Work” State. Union people now days think for themselves. They don’t vote the way the Union tells them to vote.

That is too bad. I thought that one was the one where McCain had sand-bagged to depress turnout only to sweep in at the last minute. I saw on here sometime back that if Detroit voted in lower numbers, then the rest of the state could flip the election. Oh well...

I think it would surprise people to know that many union guys don’t like Barack because they’ve lost promotions due to affirmative action and see it getting worse under an Obama administration.

This is very funny. McCain is fighting for his life in states won easily by Bush (VA, NC, CO, MO). He has no chance in MI. If McCain loses VA or NC early on and concedes by 8PM EST, I would not be surprised if he loses MT and ND, let alone MI.

The election is all but lost. I think we need to say goodbye to fantasy and return to reality. Only a last minute miracle can save McCain.

Gee, I hope you’re right. I was born and raised in Michigan, left @ 6 years ago for Indiana. The ‘State of Wayne” is a tough one for the rest of the state to overcome, even with the nightmare of a governor Granholm.

I have lived in Michigan for decades.....people here, (like in the rest of America), love to whine about their circumstance..then vote for the guy offering them gov goodies.

And like the rest of the country...do what the MSM tells them to do.

Michigan is lost, as is the US.

President Obama is coming...you all had better stop waiting for your fellow Americans to save us, and get ready, hide your money by Dec 31.

I grew up in Detroit and do remember the riots.
Soldiers were billeted at Detroit City Airport, which was two blocks from my house.
There is no way that McCain/Palin has a chance in Mi.
with the Detroit/UAW/Teamsters/MEA cabal controlling the elections.
I will vote for McCain/Palin (mostly Palin) only because my vote may be reflected in the ultimate total vote.

“The people of Michigan are outraged that their Democratic Governor, Jenny “I wanna be Marilyn Monroe” Granholm, was reelected in ‘06 “

So what happened? The people of Indiana reelected her ? Sorry, MI got what it voted for and deserves.

You’re leaving out the enormous Muslim population in MI, and the eggheads at MI State and U of MI.

I’d love to see it, and can keep praying, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

I believe in miracles; I really do. And, BTW, Michigan is in the Eastern time zone so, no effect on them whatever VA or NC do.

C'mon "roses of sharon"; read your tagline and start praying that the Spirit of God will raise up a standard against the flood of Anti-God, anti-Christ, baby killing, homosexual marriage advocates and socialists who want to destroy this nation.

Pray your tagline and believe God to do it or get a tagline you really believe.
