Some concerned parents have contacted the Mattel toy company with allegations that one of its dolls utters words which promote Islam.
The Little Mommy Cuddle 'n Coo dolls are manufactured by Fisher-Price, which is part of the Mattel toy empire. However, a number of parents contacted the company when they heard the doll say these words: "Islam is the light."
While the doll appears to utter "Islam is the light," the company denies that is actually what it is programmed to say. Mattel insists that Little Mommy Cuddle 'n Coo features realistic baby sounds, including cooing, giggling, and baby babble, with no real sentence structure. The toy company claims the only scripted word the doll says is "mama." Mattel Mattel also contends that because the original sound track is compressed into a file that can be played through an inexpensive toy speaker, actual sounds may be imprecise or distorted. Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, is skeptical about Mattel's explanation.
"It does seem to be saying, 'Islam is the light.' I don't think too many people would argue with that, so I think they're being a little disingenuous," Markell points out. "And this is not a healthy thing to be putting out in the marketplace when we're in a war on terror, and little children are so susceptible to the messages they hear -- even from a doll -- then to take them into the school and talk about them. So yeah, this is a serious thing."
Mattel admits the doll makes a sound that may resemble the words "night," right," or "light." To avoid any potential misinterpretation, they have eliminated that segment of the sound file from future production.
Mattel made a mistake. It's supposed to be for Halloween and programmed to say: 'Islam is a fright.'
I’d sure like to find a link to a sound file that was legitimately recorded from this doll.
“I’m little Habibah and I’m going to kill you.”
Battery powered suicide vest included?
“To avoid any potential misinterpretation, they have eliminated that segment of the sound file from future production.”
Better get one of these future collectable dolls now!
No no. It’s “Islam is a BLIGHT”
Call me paranoid but I see a pattern that can only be explained by huge amounts of Middle-East money going into a propaganda warfare against the US; starting with “fridge money” targeting certain corrupt politicians (Murtha, Frank, Pelosi, Reid and ESPECIALLY Obama) and media editors and journalists. Now I bet a nice little sand covered sum has been deposited on behalf of the Mattel CEO or someone pulling the levers in order to indoctrinate children with not so subliminal poop. Imagine the wild SCREAMS if the doll said Jesus Saves. The left would burn the company down.
C'mon. Ever'one knows Islam's da bomb....
I gave my daughter this talking Disney Ariel-the-Mermaid doll that, when you press the button in a certain pattern (quick-quick-slow) it says “you’re a slut.”
There was a recall.
I kept ours —— it will be a HUGE collector’s item.
I was linked to a story about this a couple of weeks ago on FR. I listened to the doll, and it really does sound like “Islam is the light”.
Very curious. I’ll post a link, if I can find it.
Put a cloth over the doll’s face hold it under running water and then see what it says.
My kid had an spanish speaking Elmo doll that counted “culo, dos, tres.”
It is on youtube. I heard it myself today at WalMart and Target. It sounds to me like it says “Islam is the light.”
