BREAKING NEWS: Bishop Gracida Releases Ad, Catholic Protests Planned
Catholic Online ^ | 10/24/08 | Randall Terry

Like millions of the faithful, I have been thrilled by the sudden and forceful rise of various Bishops’ voices against the errors decimating the hearts of the Faithful in this election cycle. I am speaking of the errors stated by Doug Kmiec (and echoed by others) that go like this: “It is time to set the record straight that it violates no aspect of Catholic teaching for a Catholic Voter to endorse, support, or vote for Barack Obama…” (Doug Kmiec, Catholic Attorney and Author, Can a Catholic Support Him?, pg 36, emphasis added.)

Anyone with “an ear to hear” clearly knows that no Catholic can vote for Obama with a clear conscience – no matter what Doug Kmiec, Roman Catholics for Obama, or any other misguided Catholic may declare. As Bishop Martino declared: “This is madness, people.”

But now – perhaps in an eleventh hour answer to prayer – Bishop Rene H. Gracida has released a stunningly clear radio ad concerning Catholics voting for Barack Obama.

It makes me absolutely sick when I walk through our church parking lot on the way into mass each Sunday. Many Obama stickers on cars. What is wrong with these people? Cafeteria Catholics. Pick and choose what they believe in. Disgusting.

They are “CINOs”. Christian in Name Only. Don't worry. Choices and actions have consequences. The important thing is for you to do what is in your heart.

I do worry. I don't want them to go to Hell.

No, but it's a choice they make and beyond pray and try to educate them on the errors, there's not much we can do about it.

Call your priest or monsignor, and ask why that is happening, and whether they plan to speak to the flock about it.Ask your Diocesan bishop what they are going to instruct the faithful to do.

Catholic doctirne could not be clearer on this issue.

If those in the pulpit will not speak out for the unborn, and against those who would do them harm, they are not doing their job.

I admire that Catholic bishops are taking a strong stand this year on this issue. The Catholic Church has not spoken locally on abortion with a united message in some time.

Jesus made it clear—you cannot serve two masters. You can serev God, or you can serve man, but not both. And God says “Thou shall not kill” and that includes babies. Period.

If your fellow parishioners don’t want to be told what their faith believes, they need to find a different faith.

All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing—E. Burke.

Does this mean that McCain will now get more Catholic voters?

It’s mostly McCain/Palin and Pro-Life stickers at my Catholic Church. Our priests are quite clear on the moral gravity/danger of voting for a pro-abortion candidate.

One of my former LCMS pastors once made the following statement:

"I don't know how any Christian can go to church on Sunday and vote for a democrat on Tuesday."

It was at a non church related event, and one of the few times I ever saw him without his clerical collar.

To be a Christian one must believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said “ “Whatever you do to these the least of my children you do unto me.....”
As a country which destroyed 50,000,000 children, we have surpassed the worst political murdering leaders in the world.

Awesome news.

The Spirit is at work. Thank God for the teaching clarity of Bishops Gracida, Martino, Chaput, Vann and Farrell. All the bishops and clergy and religious of America must now join the battle and speak with one voice. This is a watershed moment in the history of the Church in America.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind

Bishop Gracida was very instrumental in helping Catholics Against Kerry to turn the state of New Mexico for Bush in 2004. He made a very powerful radio spot that helped swing enough Catholics to Bush to reverse his loss in 2000. He was a wonderfully easy man to work him, very humble, very sincere.
