Dem: Obama's grandma confirms Kenyan birth
World Net Daily ^ | 10/23/08

The Pennsylvania Democrat who has sued Sen. Barack Obama demanding he prove his American citizenship – and therefore qualifications to run for the office of president – has confirmed he has a recording of a telephone call from the senator's paternal grandmother confirming his birth in Kenya.

The issue of Obama's birthplace, which he states is Honolulu in 1961, has been raised enough times that his campaign website has posted an image purporting to be of his "Certification of Live Birth" from Hawaii.

But Philip J. Berg, a former deputy attorney general for Pennsylvania, told the Michael Savage talk radio program tonight that the document is forged, a publicized newspaper notice announcing Obama's birth in Honolulu could have been faked and he has a tape recording he will be releasing over the next few days.

"This has been a real sham he's pulled off for the last 20 months," Berg told Savage. "I'll release it [the tape] in a day or two, affidavits from her talking to a certain person. I heard the tape. She was speaking [to someone] here in the United States."

He said the telephone call was from Obama's paternal grandmother affirming she "was in the delivery room in Kenya when he was born Aug. 4, 1961."

I believe Obama was Not born in the US and therefore is not qualified to become President.

There's more to it than that. Someone, like Senator McCain, who was born to two American citizens outside the US is still a natural-born US citizen.

Here’s another problem:

ACORN News [AP]
Report: “Career” U.S. Attorneys donating big to Obama
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2113652/posts
We should probably not count on the U.S. Justice Department to investigate ACORN. Why? The Justice department is contributing more to Obama than “any other executive branch agency.”

So people who should be most concerned about Obama’s constitutionality are the very ones who ought to recuse themselves from this matter [and the least likely to].

Maybe he should have left the campaign trail to visit his Kenyan grandmother. He’s been successful in isolating the HI one, he’d better do something about the other one or she could sink his ship.

He has (ahem..) cousins you know (ahem...)

Conservative media figures allege Obama’s Hawaii trip is about discredited birth-certificate rumors, not his ailing grandmother

It is my understanding that Berg was on the move well before Clinton threw in the towel.

He filed first time August 21, and the following night he was on Coast to Coast kind of unprepared, but clearly stated he was for Hillary with 18+ million votes and wanted her to be on the final ballot before the DNC's convention!!!

I think that is so wrong. People should know prior to voting if he is eligible or not. People wouldn't vote for him if they knew that Biden was going to be the one becoming President. Without the votes, McCain wins. So, eligibility should be required prior to the election.

Otherwise, anyone can run for President, legal citizen or not. If they win, they just can't be sworn in.

State Department Fires Two for Peeking at Obama Passport File

The State Department said Thursday that it fired two people and disciplined a third for inappropriately looking at the passport file of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said there were three instances in which contract employees at the State Department looked at the private passport file of the Illinois Democrat, a file that is by law generally private.

You make some good points, but I guess the pragmatism behind the amendments was:

(1) if a serious issue gets enough traction before the election, people just won’t vote for the guy; problem solved if he doesn’t win;

(2) Trying to sort out ahead of time who is and is not eligible (remember the issues would not always be so simple as production of a birth certificate) would be a process that likely could become highly politicized and also subject to litigation, yet the subject of the investigation may not win-—and may not be even remotely likely to win-—the election. IOW, it could cause a lot of chaos in the election process, and waste a lot of time and money, when the candidate may not even win anyway;

(3) Doing it after the election ensures there is a VP-Elect as well, so that if a President-elect is ineligble to serve, there is an orderly transition of power to the VP.

(4) Requiring a Senator or Rep to object in writing, and sign the objection, provides a “gatekeeper” function so the process does not become unduly politicized.

(5) If people disccover before the election that a candidate is not qualified to serve, then the solution is for people not to vote for him.

Just some of the thinking behind this process that I can see.

All that said, sure, if someone can discover facts supporting the conclusion that a candidate is not eligible to serve, they can make that information part of the campaign and try to use it to make the person lose.

Z-z-z-z-z-z-z....Look in the pocket of the nitwit who says she was beaten and carved with the sign of the “B,” (the fox so cunning and free. Barack, he makes the sign of the “B.”)

You’ll also find the API tape and the Michelle calls everybody “whitey” tape there too

There’s also plans for the corridor from Mexico to Canada in her pocket, so look around; it’s behind the grassy knoll. It is, after all, a big pocket.

That’s only fair. It’s high time we begin catching up on our quota of foreign nationals as POTUS, because our track record to date has been abysmal.

My comment was to those who insist they have all this "evidence" but then refuse to release it for days (or never do), all the while hawking their books, etc.

Get to the meat of the matter or shut up about it. This is ridiculous rumor mongering and discredits our side.

They need to prove it. We want the truth, whether we like it or not.
