Military Ballots Being Tossed in Fairfax County, VA(and so it begins says Ace)
AOSHQ ^ | 23OCT2008 | Ace

The patchwork problem of federal and state election regulations strikes again.

Military ballots are being tossed in Fairfax Co, VA because of a “technicality.” Not a lot of them compared to the size of the electorate, but more than a few.

The registrar of voters in a Democrat. He thinks it “stinks,” but the law is the law.

Fairfax general registrar Rokey Suleman said Thursday that he has had to reject some of the ballots because of a Virginia law passed in 2002. That law -- then called Senate Bill 113, sponsored by then state Sen. Bill Bolling – requires that when an overseas citizen wants to request an absentee ballot and cast a vote with the same paperwork, it requires not only a witness signature but also the current address of the witness.

The McCain campaign said there’s not even a space for the witness to list an address. Suleman agreed; he said the federal document was changed in recent years and the space for the witness address was removed. But the Virginia law hasn’t changed.

Democrats insist they’re biased towards access... so will they try to intervene on behalf of these voters?

That’s Arlington, right? The Pentagon and the environs.

Why am I not surprised?

Typical RAT policies! Push illegal alien franchise, convict franchise, but deny the franchise to the soldiers fighting for us!

There has to be a special place in Hell for RATS!

"Democrats insist they’re biased towards access... so will they try to intervene on behalf of these voters?"

Not a chance in hell (even though many of those votes will be from African-American service men and women).

The stealing of the election starts as Barack Obama takes off for Hawaii.

I can think of nothing sadder than denying the right to vote to those who are risking their lives for our freedom.

Fair is fair, I’m sure certain elements in the “military” will rectify the situation should the crypto-muslim HUSSEIN steal the White House.

Typical government work. The laws change, but the papers don’t. One hand seems to never know what the other hand is doing in government bureaucracy.

The laws relating to military ballots are supposed to be national and not treated like a non-military person who happens to be overseas. Military ballots can come in ten days after voting but civilian personnel overseas have to be in before voting.

Is he talking about military ballots or civilians overseas?

Disenfranchising our overseas military is one of the lowest acts that anyone could engage in.

Every voting military person should let it be known if their votes are not counting, they ain't fighting. Our votes were our only way to choose our Commander In Chief. We we are to be dictated too, then the dictator can do the fighting his self. This sucks. I am so damned mad I cannot see straight. THESE DAMENED POLITICIANS LET ILLEGALS VOTE AND STOP THE MILITARY FROM VOTING???? I AM SO STINKING MAD I CANNOT SEE STRAIGHT RIGHT THIS SECOND!!! THIS SUCKS. THAT IS THE WORSE LANGUAGE I CAN USE HERE, BUT I AM YELLING OTHER CHOICE WORDS AT THIS COMPUTER!!

Military ballots. We are Hawaii so we filled out the Federal election post card and they sent our absentee ballots to us. Texas and NC accepted them.

This just cannot stand. A vote being thrown out because the people responsible for safeguarding the process did not do their jobs on the front end. That is ridiculous. How can this be rectified??????????
