Catholics for Obama has just launched a web site as the Nov. 4 White House race between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain enters its final laps.
Catholics, who account for close to a quarter of the U.S. adult population, comprise a key religious group that both sides have tried to woo. In closely contested swing states such as Ohio or Florida the Catholic vote could make a difference.
The web site is sure to stoke controversy in Catholic circles with this statement: Is Barack Obama really pro-life? The answer is yes. Looking through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching, Senator Obama has spent his entire career striving for the common good. He supports health care programs that will cover all Americans, a living wage for working families, and solutions that allow distressed families to stay in their homes.
It goes on to say that Obama, a strong advocate like his party of abortion rights, will reduce the number of abortions by promoting health care for pregnant women and infant care.
Abortion is one of the most polarizing issues in America and official Catholic doctrine on the matter is clear: the church regards it as murder.
Archbishop Raymond Burke, a senior American in the Vatican, recently said the Democratic Party risked transforming itself definitively into a party of death because of its choices on bioethical questions and abortion.
Echoing several U.S. bishops, Burke accused the Democratic Partys most high-profile Catholics vice presidential candidate Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of misrepresenting Church teaching on abortion.

George Soros Sponsored!
Is this group REALLY Catholic?
Or is it just a scam?
I could start a 501c for about $200.00, call it anything I want, set-up a website, and pay $20.00 for webhosting fees.
All I would need are the contacts in the press to make sure my group got publicity. I’m sure there’s someone behind this and his pals in the media are helping him. But it’s not Catholics.
Former Catholics and future residents of hell.
This site will only impact former Catholics that haven’t told their families as yet. The Bishop’s are finally figuring out that if you only go to church twice a year, you are NOT Catholic.
Judgment Day is on its way!!!
Catholics for Obama... the group that really isn’t.
Catholics Heretics for Obama has just launched a web site...
That's a joke, right? It definitely sounds believable.
Im confused, whats up here? Is this a true “Catholic” group?
Is this group REALLY Catholic?
CINO’s (catholics in name only - like Pelosi) If you are for someone pro abortion you are not a true Catholic. You maybe baptised Catholic but that’s it.
Not Catholics.
There are three commandments right there that should have Catholics and all other Christians trying to give them an exorcism, not backing them.
“A strong advocate for abortion rights” = Pro-Life?
While it might just be a phony, I find everyday that Catholics are becoming (for lack of a better term) un-Catholic. Look at Mexico and abortion just recently. They are embracing it. What’s happened to the Catholic religion? I grew up with many Catholic friends and respected their traditions but they seem to just flush those traditions down the toilet, one behind the other here lately. My sister converted before marring a Catholic (about 20 years ago) and she was telling me then that they approved of birth control. Since then, one thing after another seems to be tearing away at the religion.
The are no Catholics who support Obama. There may be many former Catholics who support murder of the unborn; like many twisted and warped Demcrats they want it both ways.
This pro choice position is unacceptable to genuine, enlightened Catholics, Christians, and other denominations who believe that life begins at the moment of conception.
By turning a blind eye to murder, former Catholics are simply encouraging more of the same. If they would take a position against murder of children, then political parties would only run candidates who support life, and not the culture of death.
The board of this organization contains no clergy members, only former Catholics who are now trying to take advantage of our nation's largest voting bloc. The website does, however, link readers to the United States Conference Of Catholic Bishops' "Forming Consciences For Faithful Citizenship," which addresses the issue of abortion succinctly and unambiguously:
"Abortion, the deliberate killing of a human being before birth, is never morally acceptable and must always be opposed."
In other words, you can never be Catholic and supporting a politician like Barak Obama at the same time.
It is possible that none of these idiots actually read the document, or that they just missed this key point. I suspect that they were aware of it (it's hardly a secret), and they were just hoping that most readers wouldn't bothered to read it.
To answer your question, no. This is not a true Catholic group. There does not appear to be anything remotely Catholic about any of these people, other than some of their last names.
Incorrect. There are things tearing away at some of the people who call themselves Catholic. There is nothing wrong with the religion itself. One thing we love about our current people is that he accepts the fact that his insistence that real Catholics get all of it right means that there will probably be fewer Catholics in this world. That's a trade he's willing to make.
