One can hardly walk into a masjid in America these days without seeing information on how to register to vote or meeting someone eager to help you to register. Perhaps it is due to the sense of disfranchisement many Muslims in America have felt over the last seven years or maybe it is due to the fact that American Muslims are a maturing community and along with numerical growth and age comes political sophistication.
"It is time for Muslims to step up to the plate in 2008 and take their souls to the polls," Imam Mahdi Bray, the Executive Director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation (MAS), has said repeatedly throughout the year.
Towards that effort, the "MAS Voting is Power" program has launched Muslim voter registration drives all throughout the nation putting thousands of new Muslims on the rolls in swing-states such as Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and Michigan. MAS VIP is joined in this effort by an assortment of Muslim organizations all pledged to bring out a record Muslim voter turnout in 2008. This effort hoped to build upon the 2004 Muslim vote (which exit polls show going solidly for the Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry) and the famous 2000 bloc-vote which many Muslims feel tipped the scales towards George W. Bush.
At a town hall forum earlier this year for Muslim voters in Philadelphia, Imam Bray stated "this is not going to be like 2000
a handful of Muslims on top are not going to select and give an endorsement in the name of the entire Muslim community
we are looking for an endorsement from the grassroots." Already, out of the eight million Muslim in the US, 86 percent are registered to vote while 70 percent are expected to actively vote...

Voting for Moral Values?
"Mohammad Elibiary, a long-time activist in Texas, gave this endorsement of McCain: "John McCain is a strong leader and on issues like comprehensive immigration reform posses the capability to reform the political dynamics and roll back much of the xenophobic wing of the fundamentalist evangelical (Christian Dominionist) movement. That kind of cultural reform will unleash much political room for new immigrant communities, which includes Muslims; and can only be delivered by a Republican in today's political environment."
"Both Ahmed and Elibiary sounded off on two key points that many Muslims supporters of the GOP and McCain in this election often bring up; the cultural and moral values of conservatives, opposition to abortion and homosexuality, and support of other family values and gun-rights, (at least some facets of that movement) are closer to the Islamic ideal than that of liberals, thus making a more natural alliance for Muslims with conservatives. However, referring to a Jan. 2008 CAIR survey, only eight percent of Muslims are expected to vote for Republican in the upcoming presidential elections..."
No actually it's any Muslim that wants to kill us, change our laws and interfere with America's way of life for most people.
A hyphenated American is not an American at all.
This is just as true of the man who puts Native
before the hyphen as of the man who puts German
or Irish or English or French before the hyphen.
Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul.
Our allegiance must be purely to the United States.
We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any
other allegiance.
Theodore Roosevelt, 12 October 1915
Out of eight million, 86% are registered to vote. Of that 86%, 70% are going to vote. Of that 70%, Republicans will get 8% of the vote. Of that 70%, Democrats will get 92% of the vote.
We couldn’t be designing the downfall of our nation any better if we tried.
The Democrats will get 4,430,720 of those votes.
The Republicans will get 354,457 of those votes.
And we have people out working their butts off for a few million votes here and there.
Between 2008 and 2012, the number of Muslims in the United States will go up by 50 to 100%. Count on it. And those figures above will just get worse.

You want “anti-Muslim rhetoric?” I can give you anti-Muslim rhetoric! In fact, I find it hard to imagine PRO-Muslim rhetoric.

How do you say ACORN in Muslimese?

America needs to realize that to be a ‘melting’ pot, it must promote assimilation into America, that is do in Rome what the Romans do.
Enough of this “we welcome you” but then promote separation.
I know this must sound strange, but America was built by “Americans” living the American dream! If anyone so loves their old country, that they cannot bare to give it up then I will gladly help pay for a one way ticket “home”
America is the land of the free, and that should not mean “free” from becoming one.
Bush and his “Religion of Peace” mantra did a lot of good. 92% of those voting are voting for Obama. I guess they like one of their own attacking Pakistan.
Mahdi Bray is a marxist. He worked with the Stalinist Workers World Party and their fronts, ANSWER and IAC (International Action Center).
I’ve heard him several times at their rallies in DC. I would say that he belongs in Pakistan’s “Red Mosque”.
He is not a true, peace-loving Moslem. He is a real “faker”.
A”lready, out of the eight million Muslim in the US, 86 percent are registered to vote”
Ummmm, how is it that of eight million Muslims in the U.S., 86% of them are 18 or over and are citizens?
I’m starting a new group called “Non-Marxists for a Capitalist Republic”. Wanna poll me?
American Muslims have experienced a political awakening in the years since Sept. 11, 2001. Before the attacks, Muslim political leadership in the United States was dominated by well-heeled South Asian and Arab immigrants, whose communities account for a majority of the nation's Muslims. (Another 20 percent are estimated to be African-American.) The number of American Muslims remains in dispute as the Census Bureau does not collect data on religious orientation; most estimates range from 2.35 million to 6 million.
A coalition of immigrant Muslim groups endorsed George W. Bush in his 2000 campaign, only to find themselves ignored by Bush administration officials as their communities were rocked by the carrying out of the USA Patriot Act, the detention and deportation of Muslim immigrants and other security measures after Sept. 11.
As a result, Muslim organizations began mobilizing supporters across the country to register to vote and run for local offices, and political action committees started tracking registered Muslim voters. The character of Muslim political organizations also began to change.
"We moved away from political leadership primarily by doctors, lawyers and elite professionals to real savvy grass-roots operatives," said Mahdi Bray, executive director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation, a political group in Washington. "We went back to the base."
In 2006, the Virginia Muslim Political Action Committee arranged for 53 Muslim cabdrivers to skip their shifts at Dulles International Airport in Northern Virginia to transport voters to the polls for the midterm election. Of an estimated 60,000 registered Muslim voters in the state, 86 percent turned out and voted overwhelmingly for Jim Webb, a Democrat running for the Senate who subsequently won the election, according to data collected by the committee.
The community feels betrayed, said Safiya Ghori, the government relations director in the Washington office of the Muslim Public Affairs Council.
Even some of Mr. Obamas strongest Muslim supporters say they are uncomfortable with the forceful denials he has made in response to rumors that he is secretly a Muslim.

Another reason no self-respecting conservative would ever consider voting for another RINO. Bush has been an utter failure as a champion of the Right. Anyone who is willing to see muslime as anything but self-propelled garbage is no friend of this country.
