After some dicusssion we've come up with this theory:

Todd was at the Penn State game last Saturday (110,000 in attendance). He held a rally for hunters and fishermen from central PA. PA may not be lost. My husband went to visit my son and attend game and said that patriotism was on display everywhere. At the end of the national anthem when they got to the “home of the brave” part, there was a military flyover and the crowd went wild. There were American flags flying from RVs and tailgaters’ cars and McCain/Palin signs outside the farms along Route 80.

Monday (today) we petitioned the Hawai'i Supreme Court to order Obama's secret birth records released.
How did Obama respond? He suddenly discovered that his grandmother, who had supposedly been released from her hospital a week ago, when he showed no interest in her, needed his immediate attention. Cool, calm, collected Obama suddenly suspended his campaign and headed for Hawai'i.

Obama did not pay any attention to his grandmother until I showed up in Honolulu. Suddenly she is the center of his attention. She is so central to his campaign that he has suspended it! But when Obama was here last summer he only visited his grandmother for an hour. One hour! Now he suspends his campaign for her?

Not to sound harsh, but it is Obama who is having a personal crisis, not McCain. There is absolutely no reason for McCain to stop campaigning. McCain was the first to get off the trail when his country needed him, but Obama does not need him, and McCain has a job to do.
I am sure Obama will continue to run his ads, and he will be just fine.
This is one of those terrible and very sad things that happen in life (ailing family members), but we cannot expect the whole world to stop with us as we tend to personal business.

My husband and I always wondered why he just didn’t present himself as a mixed-race individual to begin with. He is mixed race anyway, not black. Or.... would that hurt his standing with the black voters then?

Mark Levin played a Biden gaffe montage maybe a week or so ago. Aafter each gaffe Mark played the “What am I talkin about!” from the famous STAND UP CHUCK gaffe. It was hysterical. I wish he’d play it again!
My grandmother has stage 4 alzheimers, and I make sure I see her weekly - and if she was closer, it would be twice a day!
