Obama's numbers in OH stink, and PA isn't much better. He's hurting in FL. McCain's putting on the pressure in NH, WI, MN, IA, CO, VA and rumor has it even MI again. And McCain/Palin are just now employing their ad blitz. Life is good, and barring a major October/November surprise the lightweight Marxist has been defeated.
But we still have plenty of work to do. There are a bunch of vulnerable freshmen Dem representatives in the House. The GOP has about 20 realistic pick-up opportunities. See my list below:
AL-05
AZ-05
CA-11
GA-08
IL-14
KS-02
KY-03
LA-06
MS-01
NH-01
NH-02
NY-20
PA-07
PA-08
PA-10
PA-11
TX-22
TX-23
WI-08
And my personal favorite! PA-12 (tough, but doable thanks to Murtha the Marine smearing racist)
Details on these races (website links, voting percentages, fundraising numbers, etc.) are here spread throughout this thread.
The current count is Dems 233, GOP 202. The Pubbies unfortunately do have to defend a lot of seats due to retirement. To retake the House they'd need to basically run the table on defending those seats and win about 16 of those above pick-up opportunities. Possible, but not likely. However, a solid McCain/Palin win in this anti-incumbent environment could provide enough of a push. And just cutting into the Dems' current 31-seat lead, after months of them gloating, will be very demoralizing.
If you've been thinking about donating your time and/or money, now's the time.
not sure about the rest of your screed but this part is spot on...
I would love to see that dumb woman out,,maybe without all the dead NO voters, there is a chance.
Turn off the MSM and keep it right here it you want real facts, not fictional dream sequences.
We are doomed. We will die meaningless and pointless, painful deaths, in the dark. We are screwed. It’s all over. Suicide is too good for us. We need to eat bugs, on our bellies, like snakes... only worse.
Not reality - false crap.
Once again you have provided comic relief~~
Cordially,
Yeah, 7 points in NH sounds too high for either camp. Have a great time at the Manchester event!
Next time, it should be PLEASE, Shove it up your a##.
No, it should be, "Please, kind sir, I implore thee with every ounce of conviction that a body can muster, whilist thou insert thy item up the nether orifice? I would be forever grateful to thee, and wouldst keep thou in my prayers forever. Kindest regards, peace, and prosperity!"
That may be your most optimistic post yet. I’m winning you over!!! :-)
(Commerical) How do YOU spell comic relief?
A-N-Y-B-O-D-Y B-U-T L-A-Z!
Oh God. I hope a big rock falls on me soon.
The first ten million years were the worst, and the second ten million years, they were the worst too. The third ten million I didn't enjoy at all. After that I went into a bit of a decline.
Thanks - I’m looking forward to it. One thing that bothers me though is that our local TV station, WMUR in Manchester, has had NO McCain ads on in the past few days while Obama has one on at least every 10 minutes (or so it seems). I am going to HQ is about an hour and will ask them directly about whether they’ve pulled funds from NH. They’d have to be crazy or desperate, or both to do such a thing. Either way, I’m going to find out.
A week ago, John Murtha, one of Congress' most beligerent and spendthrift members, was cruising to another reelection. Then last Wednesday he said on camera that Obama may not do well in Western Pennsylvania because his constituents are racists. Today, he helpfully clarified that he didn't mean call his constituents "racist," but rather just that they're "really redneck." I'm sure those in Western Pennsylvania feel much better now.
I already noted that Murtha's opponent, William Russell, wasted no time hammering him over this. Now the 527 groups are getting into the race, running their own ads. Prior to all of this breaking in the last week, a source close to the Russell campaign told me that their polling had them down 14 points against Murtha. But that same poll also had some good news for Russell Murtha, even with a 14 point lead, didn't have support over 50 percent, and 40 percent of those polled thought it was time for a change in Congressional leadership. Further, only 24 percent of those polled were aware Russell was running against Murtha.
Again, this was before Murtha's [racist and redneck] comment. Russell is now up with hundreds of thousands of dollars in ads, even as Murtha gets more bad publicity. Russell's name recognition is probably shooting up, and Murtha's support was already very soft, so there's plenty of room for Russell to move up in the polls. The odds are still against Russell, but he's played this well and this race could be the sleeper victory of '08.
In fact, it's important to erase the past existence of everything, too.
God, this sucks.
“Not reality - false crap.”
Whatever.
I stand by it. I have not seen a single ad in 6 weeks. I hear on average 2 McCain ads on the radio to approximately 12 to Obama and I have it on all day. Obama ads are on the conservative talk radio station; no McCain ads.
The BIGGEST sign that No.VA is over is that Obama went from sponsoring approx. 4-5 ads an hour on the radio to 2-3. He’s no longer spending money because it’s sewn up. Again, McCain’s at the bare minimum and frankly, rather poorly done compared to Obama’s.
Given the amount of time the McCain camp is spending in PA and OH vs. VA, I’d say it’s looking like that’s where the resources are being spent. The loss of Virginia won’t be a disaster should McCain pull off PA. Again, just looking at where the money is being spent and where their time is being spent, the internals to switch PA must look better than holding onto VA. Most polls ahve the difference about the same, but all resources seem to be giong to PA.
Nancy Boyda has got to go.
Uh, no. The WWF hasn’t been my bag since junior high. I have to giggle a little bit at your impression of me.
But anyway, the point remains that this campaign is peaking at exactly the right moment.
