Nah. Hunter will be. But that’s OK, he’s much more conservative anyway.

I have zero doubt that McCain will be our next President and Sarah Palin will be our next Vice President. And then Sarah Palin will go on to be President.

Dodger - it's a nice idea, but I'm not convinced.

Think about it...seriously. If McCain/Palin lose, she'll return to a normal family life, and her good work for the people of Alaska. She will have been painted as "dumb" by the MSM, and the American electorate would have rejected her. Beyond that - she'd have to be asking herself, "why would I want to put myself through that again?"

Lastly, she likely to be re-elected to another term, be a leader in the NGA, and have very lucrative offers of exec slots from oil/gas corporations.

No, I think if they lose, we will have missed the opportunity. I don't think she'll pass this way again.

I agree this is very likely.

After two years of unbridled hard left Dimo-socialism, the populace will vote in enough Republicans to turn one or both the houses of Congress back to the Republican side in 2010, then in 2012, Omama will be ridden out of town just like Carter was.

Sarah Palin has captured the country with her charm and charisma but also the minds of the country with her brains, energy and achievements. I think she’ll be a shoo-in to be the first female President in U.S. herstory. (Pun intended)

All of the elite punditry is going to try to do everything they can to stop Sarah. The question is: Do WE have the heart to fight the battle to get her nominated? Or are we going to crumble again and fight over a bunch of crappy liberal candidates like we did this primary season.

I know the Romney people won't give up so easy. I also know the punditry will come at us pretty hard, so we're gonna have to have one of those patented Barack Obama Spines of Steel ™ to make it happen.

I think if McCain wins and decides to be a one termer, you’re right.

I think if McCain loses he takes Palin down with him as far as national ambition goes.

She would return to Alaska and be out of the public eye. She will be great for GOP fundraising since the base loves her, but she wouldn’t get out of the 2012 GOP primaries unless she is the incumbent VP going for the presidency and McCain is retiring.

Most presidents are two termers, so if Obama wins, odds are he will be a two termer.

No matter what happens in the election, Sarah Palin ought to undertake an education in economics and foreign policy.

One person she ought to talk with is Ron Paul on economics. Whatever you think of Ron Paul, he's very knowledgable in fiat paper money, and what that inevitably leads to a collapse of the money system. Ron Paul has studied economics for 40 plus years.

She ought to talk with others too. She ought to spend a lot of time with Gen Petraeus and other top, innovative Generals. She ought to learn about Islam from Robert Spencer. She ought to read Robert Kagan and other big thinkers about the current strategic situation. She ought to write and speak on these topics.

As McCain's VP, she'll have plenty of time to study and do her political duties.

This is precisely why the media are going so hard after her now. They know she will be the defacto nominee. And with four more years as governor, she will have the experience they say she lacks. Add that to the overwhelming support of the base, and it scares the hell out of them. Get her, and get her now is their rally cry.

the nomination is hers if she wants it. Her only competition may be Jindal but he’ll still be very young in 2012 (41) and frankly he’s very ivy league east coast intellectual. He’ll win some of the liberal coastal states but Palin will cleanup everywhere else. She connects with people in a way nobody else in the republican party does.

We’ve all seen her grow in the next 7 weeks, now imagine her after 4 years of thinking about HER views on national issues and running HER own campaign, not parroting McCain’s talking points and reading his speeches as kind of a hired gun.

I don’t know what the status of the country will be in 2012 if the hope peddler wins but the nomination will be Palin’s if she wants it.

The next question is timing. She can win the nomination but can she win the general election? Is 4 years enough time to erase the character assassination the mainstream media inflicted on her?

Or is she better off serving two full terms as governor, working her butt off electing republican congressman all over the country and going on every foreign policy conference or speech or charity event overseas she’s invited to build real commander-in-chief credibility?

She’ll only be 52 in 2016. She’s got a bright future ahead of her whatever she decides.

She’s a quick learner and the biggest hurdle any candidate for president has is name ID and fundraising.

Those will not be problems for Palin. If she makes a serious attempt to study national issues over the next 4 yars and builds a campaign team around her, there’s absolutely no reason she can’t go all the way.

She has the best raw political instincts of any politican since Reagan. That can’t be learned. You either have it or you don’t. The rest can be learned and she’s a quick study.

God forbid...If something happens to McCain while president...she may have to step into that office before 2012. She’s been told she is Modern-Day Esther. This country needs a deliverer.
