Ron Howard, the director of the film version of Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, reports that Vatican officials made it difficult to complete work on a 'prequel,' Angels and Demons, discouraging cooperation by churches and public officials in Rome.
A Vatican spokesman does not deny the charge. "Usually we read the script," says Father Marco Fibbi, "but in this case it wasn't necessary. Just the name Dan Brown was enough."
ROFL............
Imagine that, Ron! The Vatican won't help you to make an anti-Catholic film.
What a shock!
Boo Hoo. The Catholic Church did lay down and get stomped on? Infidels!
Shocking, I tell you.
Not only anti-Roman Catholic, but wholly anti-Christian of any denomination.
Let’s see this guy make an expose on the ROP.
I’m sure that they turn down requests for porno to be shot in their buildings too.
Maybe he could find some mosques that would permit him to use their structures. Or some Scientologist complex.
Jack ass.
HA!HA!
Everybody’s a victim. Imagine that, poor guy can’t make a film on property that is not his...
mymymy.
Go suck helium, Daffy Dan.
I have to agree but based solely on “faith” because it’s one of the worst movies I’ve NEVER seen. I plan to continue in that sate of bliss. I find it funny that these clowns who want to trash the Church are such whiny butts because the Church won’t help.
The book was so bad, I couldn’t even wait to miss the movie.
little Opie Cunningham doesn’t get
Ron Howard directed the catastrophic “The Alamo” remake. He should have quit and just lived off his “Mayberry RFD” and “Happy Days” residuals.
For instance: the Council of Nicea is portrayed with "Bishops" in medieval costumes (even though Nicea was held in the early 4th century) yelling and shouting at one another, shaking fists, etc, and there are what looks like a thousand or more bishops portrayed, even though the council was only a couple hundred. And all this is supposedly to show them arguing over the "divinity" of Jesus, even though Nicea had nothing to do with the divinity of Jesus but was convened in response to Arianism (Jesus relationship with the Father). And that's only one example of the bountiful historical idiocy in the film.
Even Ian McKellan's wonderful voice and delivery can't save it.
A terrible book was turned into an epic fail of a film. By not seeing it you have saved yourself three hours of your life that I, unfortunately, will never get back, having seen it and wishing that I hadn't.
Ian McKellan is a flaming bundle of sticks...
Yes, I know, but he’s still a wonderful actor. He was perfect as Gandalf in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy of films. I am not a bigot, I’m fair minded enough to recognize an individual and their talents even if I disagree with their lifestyle or politics. Unlike those on the left....
**The Catholic Church did lay down and get stomped on? Infidels!**
Are you saying that the Catholic Church members are infidels? I really don’t think you can speak in judgment and in such generalities.
Our priest warned us that there would be FIVE anti-Catholic, anti-Christian films coming out before Christmas. We need to watch for them and expose them.
Obviously, you found one of them. Thanks!
LOL. No, it’s just clumsy typing. Did=didn’t. That’s what I get for trying to post with a pre-schooler by the computer.
From Wikipedia about the murders of the Cardinals in ‘Angels & Demons’:
“The first cardinal was murdered and buried and had soil lodged in his throat (Earth); the second’s lungs were pierced (Air); the third was engulfed in flames and burned alive (Fire); and the fourth was drowned in a large fountain (Water)).”
It only gets more violent.
