We’re having a long, church-wide prayer of intercession this week.

We are also having a special prayer service of intercession for our nation.... I hope its going on all over our nation in these last 2 weeks. (Working like it depends on us and praying like it depends on God)

You folks have to be kidding me... Praying will NOT help... Like God will get involved in politics? Please, spare me

From ALL of our lips to God’s ears. He hears our cry for mercy and I believe He will deliver us from the hands of the wicked. God’s arm is STILL strong to save and He shall. There can be no other way. I choose to stand in Faith that my Faithful God will Hear from His Holy Throne and save His righteous. To those who BELIEVE shall see the Glory of God. Doubt not in your heart, but pray and stand in the promises of GOD! Stand still and see the salvation of our GOD! He is mighty to save!

Well, let me take a trip down memory lane, going back as far as I can remember in my lifetime.

Eisenhower: military general officer, university President
Kennedy: Congressman, Senator
Johnson: Congressman, Senator, VP
Nixon: Congressman, Senator, VP
Ford: Congressman, VP
Carter: Governor
Reagan: Governor
Bush I: Congressman, Ambassador, CIA Chief, VP
Clinton: Governor
Bush II: Governor

So, kind of a mixed bag as to which makes the better (successful) President. But, on balance, I agree with your point about governors having more executive experience than Senators.

If McCain wants to win, he'd damn well play this:

He should say to his detractors, “I’m not running against the polls, I’m running for the people,” and say it often.

If we lose Virginia, we lose the election...all things being equal.

Excuse me. God is involved in EVERYTHING. He is in control. You can ask Him to fix a hang nail or you can ask Him to intercede in an election. Either way, if it is His will, it will happen.

Mrs. Manero: "I will pray for Frank Jr. to call me!"

Tony Manero: "What? You're using God as a telephone answering service now?"

Not to be picky, but Nixon was never a Senator.

Nixon was elected to the Senate in 1950, defeating Helen Ganaghan Douglas. He was selected by Ike two years later as VP.

If undecideds choose to break for Obama

Anyone who could possibly be "undecided" between McCain and Obama is seriously far too stupid to be entrusted with a vote. Unfortunately, even imbeciles get to pull the lever, eh?

I’m not mocking... at all... I just don’t want anyone to place hope in that, and assume that God will work miracles.
