After watching "Saturday Night Live" make fun of her from afar, Sarah Palin witnessed it first hand this week as Tina Fey engaged in fiction by depicting her at the news conference the Republican vice presidential nominee has yet to hold.
Later, Palin came on stage during the Weekend Update mock news segment and bobbed to the beat as cast member Amy Poehler performed a rap song the Alaska governor decided was too hardcore for her to perform personally.
"I'm Jeremiah Wright 'cuz I'm the preacher; I got a bookish look and you're all hot for teacher," Poehler rapped as actors dressed as Eskimos, Palin's husband, Todd, and a caribou pranced across the stage.

Governor Palin did very well (not that I expected her not to--I expected problems with the hosts). Her prior televison experience as a broadcast journalist paid off handsomely here, and she is the master of the "look." In fact, her individual facial expressions are worth a thousand words, especially when blowhard Alec is putting her down.
During the rap skit, she moves like a natural born dancer, and was thoroughly unintimidated. And the moose prancing across the floor and then getting shot WAS funny. I did notice that the audience was somewhat cool to her, but that was to be expected. So, thank goodness it did not turn out to be the disaster I half-way expected, even though I doubt she won any new votes.
Yeah, Diane Lane is a real beauty, and to think that he beat her just makes me sick.
They couldn’t really put them side-by-side as that might have shot down future Fey work as her. When they were relatively close for a real short time at the end, you could see that Sarah is built totally different than Tina. A much more healthy looking woman. She would have dwarfed Tina if they were placed side-by-side.
LOL!
Me either.
And no one is....and I think that is great~
Max Payne is out and so is An American Carol
Literally! I showed the DVR recording to my 16 y/o Freeperboy today, and he wanted to see the moose a few times. He laughed his head off! I loved the whole thing - "Obama! Ayers! Obama! Ayers!"
Both skits were HYSTERICAL.
Shimmer! It’s a dessert topping! It’s a floor wax! It’s both!
My son laughed out loud at Fey skedaddling when Palin came in: “Byeee!” She couldn’t get away from Sarah fast enough!
“This hatred from the left is way over the top
It is truly pathological”
Frightening.
I really enjoyed it! Having been in socially hostile situations before, there is no better way to react than to have fun with grace. She won. She may have won over a few people, too. (Not Fey, though.)
And she did the “Goodnight, and have a pleasant tomorrow” bit perfectly just like Jane Curtin did.
Brava!
