API is disturbed by the way many have reacted to the story on Mrs Obamas call. .... We understand that the tapes should be released, but those who have demanded the release of the tapes seem not take into account that API may become a suing target.

Die-hard Obama supporters:
A number of Americans who are die-hard Obama followers have tried their best to intimidate API using all kinds of threatening methods when they call in and when they email us....
SNIP
Die-hard Mcain supporters:
...They state clearly that if the story is true and released now, the contents will safe America from a constitutional crisis that may come if things come out after the elections that proves Obama was adopted by a foreigner, thus, disqualifying him from the Presidency.

I predict it will turn out that they were conned, and the call came from a college campus. This is just the sort of ‘news organization’ that won’t look a gift horse in the mouth, and thus is highly attractive to pranksters.
This has been an ongoing clearing thing for days As much as I would love this to be true beginning to believe that it is all BS.
Is it Michelle’s voice on the tape. That should be fairly easy to prove...
Note to API: Grow a pair or get out of the game. Lawsuits are like mosquitoes; you can minimize your exposure, but you must learn to live with them.
A response to API tonight...
« To the Editor: You will surely come under fire by the Obama campaign.
To the Editor:
Please tell me its not true that it is API that will derail Obamas run - A story that can most likely end the chance of an American of African descent becoming the president of the United States of America in 2008 is coming out of a Pro-African website.

Greetings,
Someone just sent me a link to your website and the story about Michelle Obama calling you and the unfortunate statements that has been claimed she made. I do not want to believe the whole story. If it were however true, it would be a rather strange thing a story that can most likely end the chance of an American of African descent becoming the president of the United States of America in 2008 is coming out of a Pro-African website.
Please tell me it is not true. I am extremely saddened but as the Yoruba people say, if the death in the house do not kill you, the one outside can never get you. Politically, I have always leaned right and was a supporter of George Bush in 2000, especially with his promise of amnesty and fair distribution of wealth (compassionate conservatism).
I didnt care much for him in 2004. If this story is true, I can only pray that your outfit will not derail the entire campaign. I was in Africa in May and saw the hope in the peoples eyes. For once, we are all feeling like maybe, maybe we might have a friend in the most powerful house on the block. We have had American Presidents with significant skeletons in their closets- most known to the Press and nicely kept secret. All you have to do is see the movie, W or read up on Bill Clinton. You will do what you need to do and life, my friends, will go on.
But please tell me its not true that it is API that will derail Obamas run.
regards
John P. Logman.
African till death.
If the story is true that Obama is not an eligible citizen, we’ll hear about it soon enough. The Clintons have done extensive research on the candidate, and will come out with the dirt at the moment they see as most advantageous to them.
Patience.
It’s irrelevant and a distraction at this point, regardless of it is true or otherwise.
You need to get over to their site and leave positive feedback, if this is true they need to know that we will support them. Surely we can raise a legal fund for them or volunteer some lawyers?
I would like to hear this.
Yeah, sure.
Thanks for putting this up again...I had forgotten that I read tomorrow as a release date in a Link to API. I have been trying to pass this info to others who asked where I got it...
The facts regarding need to tell people you are recording are very different in different states and internationally.
They quote Michelle in a very believable way considering the facts we are aware of and that the press does not report concerning his citizenship.
They have reported that her relationship with them will clear up the “why” she called, and trusted them to write a positive story about “0”.
They did say she made other statements, too...well we’ll see if they just wanted publicity or really have a story.
Pulling information out of Corsi has been slow this week too...stringing out his minutes of fame?
Greta may have opened some eyes tonight (with high ratings?) and there may be others who begin to report facts they know and they will all connect the dots!
I’ll keep watching.
Will MSM Investigate Alleged Angry Phone Call by Michelle Obama to African Press International?
MRC and NewsBusters is all over this.
CLIP
The American man Dr Corsi was recently reported to have been arrested in Kenya because there was fear that he might reveal information on Obama when he wanted to hold a press conference in Nairobi.
The question now is why he was arrested and who ordered his arrest. Was Obamas hand in this in any way? We will never know the truth but what is clear is that Dr Corsi was seen as a threat while in Kenya.
When API asked Mrs Obama to comment on why Dr Corsi was arrested by the Kenyan government and whether she thought Kenyas Prime Minister Mr Raila Odinga was involved in Dr Corsis arrest, she got irritated and and simply told API not to dig that which will support evil people who are out to stop her husband from getting the presidency.
When asked who she was referring to as the evil people, she stated that she was not going to elaborate much on that but that many conservative white people and even some African Americans were against her husband, but that this group of blacks were simply doing so because of envy.
SNIP
Mrs Obama asked API to write a good story about her husband and that will earn API an invitation to the innoguration ceremony when, as she put it , her husband will be installed as the next President of the United States of America next year.
UPDATE: Because of the high level of interest in this story, API has just posted a phone number where they can be contacted for verification. Calls must be made between Oct. 16 and 18. Here is the number posted on their site: 004793299739. To call from the USA, the number is: 011-4793299739.
This sounds like hyped crap and I bet it turns out to be little or nothing. If they had anything, it would be out by now.
Something’s missing here. What preceded this? Why would Michelle Obama bother to telephone this rather obscure, so-called news source. This smacks of a set-up!

The way the article was written reminds of the style I see in a lot those Nigerian get-rich-quick scam letters.
Here is the article in the African Press International that got Michelle all stirred up at them.
