Impeachment law has to be dusted off (603,413 Signatures needed to Impeach Brunner)
The Columbus Dispatch ^ | May 6, 2008 | Mark Niquette and Jim Siegel

Under Ohio's constitution and laws, there are two ways to remove a statewide elected official: impeachment by the legislature, or through a complaint signed by at least 603,413 qualified electors that is filed and tried in court.

The constitution says an officeholder can be impeached "for any misdemeanor in office," but that doesn't necessarily refer to a crime, said Steven F. Huefner, an associate law professor at Ohio State University, and Steven H. Steinglass, a law professor and dean emeritus at Cleveland State University. Rather, "misdemeanor" in this context refers more generically to any misdeed, and that ultimately is defined by the General Assembly, they said.

Can I just rent a house in Ohio and sign this petition?
If I sign it, will you give me a dollar a pack of smokes?

I have a place you can rent and I'll knock a dollar off and leave a pack of smokes on the counter for you.

Is it too late to register? I thought Oct. 6th was the last day, which is the day I registered.

That is unbelievable. Need votes in a swing state? Volunteer!

We are moving rapidly towards done for. Maybe we have a better chance through civil war. At least we have the guns and religion.

what can we do

Not sure! That's what we are trying to find out on this thread, I think. I have friends in NE Ohio that would jump on the bandwagon, but we need to find the wagon.

If it goes through the legislature, doesn’t there have to be a trial after there is an impeachment?

This is approach is to collect signatures on a complaint that is tried by a court. The complaint has to make sense for this use. Impeachment by the legislature requires a legislative trail (political) after the impeachment is done.

The beauty of Impeaching by collecting signatures is that citizens can drive the process without the Pols even if they are determined to wimp out.

The problem with getting the requisite 603,413 signatures is that they all have to be legal and verifiable. Given the penetration of ACORN into the whole system, this is going to be just about impossible. The 603,413 needed will probably need to be double that to account for the fraudulent signatures that ACORN and friends will inject just to cloud the issue.

I believe you are wrong. We will gather signatures at the houses of people. ACORN's fraudulent registrations represent people who don't exist. People in their own homes are much more easily verified. Nevertheless, obviously about 1 million signatures would be needed to assure the 600,000 when you are done.

Brunner has to pay the price if she refuses to investigate the rampant voter fraud in Ohio. She needs to lose her job and become an pariah like OJ before he finally ended up in jail.

I bet they will be more strict verifying these signatures than those registering to vote in the election.

but impeachment simply means an indictment... not removal from office. What am I missing here?

If Brunner was impeached by Election time.. it would be

NEWS!!

And an undeniable fact telling Americans that the election is being stolen and that may be enough to save us.

This would be awesome.

Make sure you hit at least a million signatures on this thing. Otherwise Obama's cronies will get it disqualified just like he did his state senate opponent.
