Palin keeps up attacks on ACORN voter registration

WEST CHESTER, Ohio – Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Friday kept up the Republican ticket's attack on a community activist group that registers voters and cited an Ohio plumber's encounter with Democrat Barack Obama as indicative of his tax policies.

Campaigning in one of the swing state's conservative strongholds, Palin said Obama hasn't been forthcoming about his ties to ACORN, the Association of Community Activists for Reform Now. The group faces allegations of voter registration fraud in Ohio and other states.

Obama has said he doesn't have any significant links to the group.

"You deserve to know," Palin told thousands surrounding her stage in a suburban community park. "This group needs to learn that you here in Ohio won't let them turn the Buckeye State into the Acorn State."

Scott Owens, Butler County chairman for the McCain campaign, said 15,000 tickets to the event were handed out and estimated that the crowd was near that number.

You rock, Sarah!

Re ACORN:
I wish she would pound on the fact that the first bailout proposed in the Dem controlled House, as I recall, had 140 BILLION DOLLARS for ACORN! $140,000,000,000 ain’t peanuts. Imagine how many voters they could sign up (buy) with that kind of budget. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Here is the message I just sent to family and friends in Florida——

What is wrong with the Florida Judicial System that seems to condone Voter Registration Fraud?????

Below is today’s news report about voter registration fraud in Pinellas County. It is but one example of many in Florida.

So why are there no indictments and convictions for voter registration fraud??? See the Florida laws regarding registration fraud pasted below.

Why do the newspapers fail to mention that voter registration fraud is a felony? Could they be Obama supporters???

We need to start making a stink about the failure of our Florida judicial system to convict people of voter registration fraud.

http://election.dos.state.fl.us/voter-registration/voter-reg.shtml

Below is the oath on the voter registration form

Oath: I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will protect and defend the
Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Florida, that
I am qualified to register as an elector under the Constitution and laws of the State of Florida, and that all information provided in this application is true.

Below is the penalty for signing an untrue voter registration form

If the information on the application is not true, the applicant can be convicted of a felony of the third degree and fined up to $5,000 and/or imprisoned for up to 5 years.

Elections officials get some practice with voter fraud

I suspect that a little known fact would drive the ACORN message home better.

Find out the percentage breakdown on the ACORN registrations.  If it 99% Democrat as I suspect, I think the public would be angry knowing a publicly funded agency had engineered such an effort.

I know ACORN claims not to be publicly funded, but I believe it truly is.  I think the public looks at it that way too.

The FReepathon Challenge has been extended to 10/20/08 12:01am.  (I wasn't able to focus and push the effort like I wanted to by the 15th.  Let's go for it.)

Hey, we're almost done with this quarter's FReepathon.  The goal will be reached within a few days.

We have extended the FReepathon Challenge.  It's a way for you to donate and get some of your funds matched.  Those who have volunteered to become a Charter Member of the FReepathon Challenge, will pay a certain amount if certain levels are reached.  Read about it at the link.

If you would like your donation to be augmented for the benefit of retiring the FReepathon more quickly, join in the FReepathon Challenge by clicking on the right part of the above graphic.

We'd love to have you join as a charter member too, if you'd like.

If you wouldn't care to be a part of the FReepathon Challenge, but you'd just like to chip in to help retire the FReepathon more quickly, please click on the left part of the above graphic.

  Happy trails FReepers...

It was a great rally. The Bellamy Brothers (”Drugs” is a fantastic song) were a nice warm up to John Boehner who is the only congressman I know of who says if I ever bring home an earmark you can throw me out. He bragged about the lack of bacon he brings to our area and we cheered for him!

Sarah was great. As Boehner said “She gets it”. She starts with the right principals and develops her positions from there. Much like someone else.

"Acorn State""

Good phrase, great line, and easily customizable! "We won't let them turn the (Insert nickname of your state here) into the Acorn State!" Or "Are you going to allow them to turn the (insert nickname of state here) into the Acorn State?"

I wish more people knew that the group that did not perform services for the Obama campaign was, in fact, given money BY the Obama campaign to perform exactly the service their lawyer says they were not hired to perform.

From Michelle Malkin, quoting the Pittsburg Tribune August 22:

"An Obama spokesman said Federal Election Commission reports would be amended to show Citizens Services Inc. — a subsidiary of ACORN — worked in “get-out-the-vote” projects, instead of activities such as polling, advance work and staging major events as stated in FEC finance reports filed during the primary."
