No. Really. You're kidding me. Barack Obama actually told that Joe the Plumber guy that he wants to "spread the wealth around." What, did Obama just get done reading the Wikipedia entry on Huey "Share the Wealth" Long or something? Was he somehow channeling that left-wing populist from the Depression? Talk about playing into the most extreme stereotype of your party, that it is infested with socialists.
A while back I chatted with a University of Chicago professor who was a frequent lunch companion of Obama's. This professor said that Obama was as close to a full-out Marxist as anyone who has ever run for president of the United States.

After seeing Obama’s I’m only gonna tax people over $250,000 several times, I started thinking you know, the more people see that, the more it’s going to start looking to them like robbing anyone who’s doing well. I think it will be a net negative ad over time.
Of course they do. Free money is always appealing.
Socialism promotes the coveting of others’ property and promises of the theft thereof.
The problem is half of America is not thinking.
Socialism has a certain quality that relieves people of all that burdensome thinking.
Yep: it still shocks me but after teaching political science for 47 yrs. and watching colleagues brainwashing kids on college campuses throughout, I guess I can say, ‘the chickens are coming home to roost.’ The public seems to be ignorant on what socialist pacifism is and that is BHO but they seem to hate W, the GOP, Wall St. so much, common sense just flies out the window.
“I can’t believe Obama allowed himself to get caught saying something so stupid.”

There is a world of difference between equality of opportunity, and equality of results. The only question is whether Obama is too ignorant to know the difference.
The kicker for me, was that it was from an associate. A professor from U of C, lol. Yikes. If HE thinks you are radical.... : o
I have already vowed that if the socialists get power here,
I’m going to do all I can to “crash the system” by denying them the fruits of my labor and getting on all the gov’t programs that I possibly can.
William Ayers is a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, a public university, not at the University of Chicago, a private university (founded with Rockefeller money).
Maybe there is a famous professor with the initials W.A. at the University of Chicago, but no one comes to mind.
Actually finding a conservative at the University of Chicago may be less surprising that at other leading research universities. No doubt most of them are leftists but there have been a few prominent conservatives associated with that institution.
The alternative is hard work, sacrifice and saving...not exactly an Obama campaign promise for free, free, free...
The Protestant work ethic that permeated the first 200 years of America and that has extended into later groups who came here to work very hard, pay your fair share of taxes and when times get lean, work harder.
There was no welfare before LBJ.

Yes, it has long been OBVIOUS to many of us that Obama is a Marxist, yet his fans will vote for him regardless. It doesn’t matter to them what his idealogy is (if they even understand it), who his criminal associates are, and that he is nothing but a slick talking fraud.
He’s the black messiah to some, he’s the guy with “D” after his name to others, and he just represents “change” to still more. All of this adds up to big trouble for this country. I WILL keep fighting this march to the destruction of our society but I’m glad I’m not so young anymore.............
I know one such person. Wants to go to Canada for “free health care” and complains that a drug test by a private company for employment is a violation of the fourth amendment. Says Republicans just lie down for authority. I had to laugh.
Socialism always SOUNDS good because the idea of having everything your need SOUNDS good. The idea that others will have everything they need SOUNDS good. The speed with which the listener can apply common sense to the concept is what divides us. Common sense tells us that most people want to earn what they have and enjoy the journey through the American Dream.
Very well said...just ask Europe.
70-80% taxes for marginal healthcare and an eternal pension...France is dying and being replace by an unchecked flow of Arabs and Persians who are clearly not building factories or buying farms, they are building mosques and living on the dole, if they are not incarcerated.
Yes, Socialism is a miserable option.
If we expelled the millions of illegals here, things would begin to prosper again.
Welcome aboard Gooch...just try to keep those positive thoughts going, McCain/Palin just might be able to take the BHO in November and we will all have much to celebrate.
But soon thereafter we will have to marshall ourselves to keep Juan McC in check.
My misguided DH is fond of quoting Arthur Clarke, who supposedly said that eventually the government will realize it is cheaper and easier to pick up the slack for the poor than to try to get everyone to pull his weight.
What he won’t acknowledge is that the ranks of those who can’t or won’t work will continue to grow and those of the working people will continue to shrink if the former are rewarded and the latter are punished. Why is that so hard for people to understand?
No. That's not how liberalism works. They share everyone elses wealth. There's is totally off limits.
Imagine the number of health care policies Obomas 4 million dollar home could buy.
