McCain: I would rather "lose" the election than..........
SteveK1 | 10-15-08 | SteveK1

I heard on our local Tampa radio station this morning 970 Radio:

According to a political analyst, McCain would rather "lose" the election than conduct a dishonorable campaign.

If this is true, than many of us regret sending a contribution to McCain.

This reminds me of a boxer fighting in the last round needing a KNOCKOUT to win the fight. Instead he jabs and dances.

It's better to go down in flames with honor, according to McCain.

It’s ridiculous anyway.

McCain does not have to run a “dishonorable campaign” to win.
The truth about Obama will work just fine.

I agree with McCain on this. Dishonorable would be using voter fraud, using made up stories and scurrilous lies about opponents, race baiting, etc. McCain shouldn’t do any of that. Obama already has.

Raising policy concerns, judgment questions, and questions regarding questionable associations is not dishonorable. Given Palin’s rhetoric over the last week or two, I’d say McCain agrees.

If that is true, then that’s the most selfish thing anybody can do.

Mr McCain needs to understand, sometimes for the sake of the country, one needs make many sacrifices; even their reputations or honors. Being a hero isn’t just in the form of risking ur life, but rather risking anything in any capacity, including risking “honor or integrity”. Losing integrity is just as bad as losing ur life.

One also needs to remind Mr. McCain, that this is NOT about him or his honor, but about people choosing him to lead this great country of ours. And saving this country from a moron who can’t even produce his birth certificate. If Mr McCain can’t deliver that, perhaps he should step down now and let someone more up to plate to do so, bc he will certainly lose.

Some of us who are Dems who have risked our “reputations” and “honors” and crossed over because we truly believe Obama is wrong and an evil being. If we can do that for the sake of the country, surely Mr. McCain can make a sacrifice too.

First, I think they are just “high-sounding” words. Besides, it does not mean that attacking Obama is “dishonorable” One could interpret it to mean “I’d rather lose than stuff ballot boxes with illegal ballots.”

I could go off so many different ways...

And now, he stands in stark contrast to Sarah Palin, who is a fighter and taking it to Obama.

I knew this would happen. I knew on so many levels that Palin would make McCain look like the spineless fool he is.

This sort of second hand information always turns out to be true. I once had a friend who knew a guy who had a cousin who was a roadie for Stryper and told me they all worshipped Satan and snorted coke off a golden-calf’s azz each night before hitting the stage...

So when you are upset you turn on your own? What!!

Turn that energy into defeating everything you loathe

I get on the web 1 hour a day to pep up and set people straight on different web sites...they are not hearing this from the news.....somebodies got to tell them...

Now we have trolls and obama campers acting like freepers

I would be interested to know how many new freepers whe have gotten this month!!! They are paid full time to search conservative web sites and say things that discourage and anger Johns base!!

I know I went to a couple Obama’s meeting when he first started...they are everywhere and they are paid fulltime!

How is it dishonorable to tell the truth about Obama and his radical associations, especially Rev. Wright? This McCain is unbelievable. I guess we’ll just have to lose then.

Yes you’re right...we are upset and mainly worried!! But sometimes wonder why repubs haven’t learned to fight a little better. Perhaps our guy didn’t end up being the candidate... I find we tend to divide and go our own way without banding together and making sure whoever our candidate is wins.I’ll admit some elections I don’t really care to fight but this one in all my 73 yrs is the most important one to win and I get very disheartened when I see us fighting each other over things I consider so inconsequential compared to the outcome of this election. I was over at a Puma site and they are doing so much to help McCain win...raising money....putting together a ad with money they have raised to show all the reasons not to vote for Obama....this ad is getting airtime!!
Country first!!!

That's great, and I hope McCain-PALIN win on 4 Nov. I'm working to see that happen, especially by trying to debunk all the polling gloom and doom on the various threads. I tried to see if FReepers wanted to get organised and brainstorm ideas for victory on a thread last week. Got some responses, but not nearly as many as I'd hoped for. I get this sense that half of FR hopes McCain will lose to "teach him a lesson", and the other half wants to mope around and boo-hoo because of stupid polls from outfits like CBS/NYTimes.

Does McCain have a guts issue here?

Are you even listening to yourself?

If you'll listen to me, tell me how many years he was in the H/H? His survival....

John McCain’s “honor” will be forever marked by the consequences of an Obama presidency

I believe in honor he should resign from the Senate if he believes it is the act of an honorable gentleman to meekly hand this country over to a marxist-socialist cabal that is orchestrating the first faux ballot-driven coup in the history of the USA
