Conservatives yesterday ripped Obama after he was caught on video telling an Ohio plumber that he intends to take the profits of small-business owners and "spread the wealth around" to those with lesser incomes.
The fracas over Obama's tax plan broke out Sunday outside Toledo when Joe Wurzelbacher approached the candidate.
Wurzelbacher said he planned to become the owner of a small plumbing business that will take in more than the $250,000 amount at which Obama plans to begin raising tax rates.
"Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?" the blue-collar worker asked.
...Obama responded that it would...
Critics said Obama let the cat out of the bag.
"It's clear that his main goal is redistribution of wealth, not growth," said Andy Roth with the anti-tax group Club for Growth. "He's perfectly happy to destroy wealth as long as he can redistribute it."
Obama has been meticulous, Roth said, to conceal the "socialistic" nature of his tax plans. "But every once in a while, he lets it slip," he said.

McCain needs to jump all over this tonight.
Now, my friend, that would be mean spirited.
As if small business wasn’t taxed enough. My husband was an independent contractor and self employment tax is a killer.
The only reason socialism doesn’t work is people.
Well, duh, we all knew this, and he let it slip a little in his conversation about capital gains taxes were "in the interest of fairness".
His goals are clear, we just have to make him comfortable enough to actually state them.
“McCain needs to jump all over this tonight.”
Ditto that!!!

It “works”. It does what it is intended to do - put the control of the masses in the hands of a few.
People need to actually READ Robin Hood sometime. The “Robin Hood” metaphor is completely retarded, and entirely backward.
The villain in the Robin Hood story wasn’t the “rich” ... it was the tax collector (Sheriff of Nottingham), and the acting King (Prince John). Robin Hood didn’t “take from the rich to give to the poor”. He took from the government to give to the people. The evil was not embodied in acquired wealth, it was in excessive taxation.
Robin Hood was a tax cutter. Robin Hood should be a conservative icon ... not a liberal stooge.
H
I wish these folks would get past the Disney version of the story.
He mentioned it the other day. Let’s hope he has the guts to do so tonight.
It is a statement that NEEDS an answer. I understand holding fire on some things, but that is a legitimate question about his philosophy and what he wants to do.
That is something for McCain to personally battle, not leave to Palin.
Fauxbama has lost the rustbelt folks... He’s done for in PA, and going to lose at least 1 or 2 more of them. He never had a chance in this election and the propping up the media is doing is downright embarrassing at this point.
There will be a lot of dour newscasters on election night.
The silent majority will send this socialist to the ash bin of history where he belongs, and the media will scream racism and try to incite riots.
McCain will bring this up.
Barack Karl Marx Obama.
It was meant as sarcasm, a similar comment made by MANY on this forum about McCain in recent weeks. Deal with it.
There is a small gold mine in this simple exchange. It can’t be taken out of context or labeled racist. It’s straightforward socialism with a smile and good day.
All the robots say stick to the economy and issues, well lets see if they have something to say about this quote.
