Incendiary New Ad Attacks Obama's "Wrong Values"
cbsnews.com ^ | 10/14/08 | Brian Montopoli

CBS News' Michelle Levi reports that a PAC called Our Country Deserve Better is now running an ad that is essentially a compilation of most of the character and association attacks made against Barack Obama throughout the year.

The ad, "Obama's Wrong Values," began running Sunday night in Reno, Nevada and has since expanded across the state. The group plans to air the spot in Colorado starting tomorrow and run it in Michigan – where McCain has pulled his advertising – by the end of the week.

According to a PAC spokesman, the group has already spent just under $100,000 in Nevada and Colorado to run the spot. The group said its budget in Michigan is "$500,000 or higher." It said it has plans to expand to Ohio and Pennsylvania, adding that its funding comes largely from a large number of small donors.

The anti-Obama group says it is kicking off a two week "Stop Obama Tour," which will include rallies, starting tomorrow.

According to its web site, the group has one objective: "to defeat Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election."

They promise they "won’t be subtle or vague - America’s future is at stake, and it’s time someone stood up to Barack Obama and told the American people why this man cannot, and must not, serve as our next Commander-in-Chief."

The 30 second spot opens with a narrator saying "Barack Obama seems to have different values from most Americans." As he says this, the Democratic nominee is spotlighted without his hand on his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance.

"His supporters put up Cuban flags with the murderous leftist Che Guevara in Obama's campaign offices," the narrator continues. "Obama's campaign received $33,000 in illegal donations from Palestinians living in the Middle East. A top official of the terrorist group Hamas endorsed Obama's campaign. And who can forget these hateful sermons from Obama's pastor of over 20 years."

At this point, Rev. Jeremiah Wright is shown saying "God Damn America."

Ha, I don't think so. This ad barely scratches the surface.

A compilation of "most" of the legit charges against Obama would require a feature film.

Good ad though.

America’s future IS at stake - as well as the personal future of lots of us here once Ohitler gets in power.

I have never ever been this concerned about an election. Even if Hillary were winning I wouldn’t be this upset. She was, btw, an Alinsky follower in her youth but obviously then grew up to be your basic obnoxious “progressive” bluestocking who happened to be married to a charming (to some) guy who heavily into personal corruption and the perks of office. Bad, but nothing like Osama Obama and the people behind him.

And why does M. Savage think that McCain is throwing the election — what’s McCain’s motivation, that is?

Obama will assuredly invite Ayers to the White House.

The ad is just AWFUL. My 12-year old nephew can do better with Windows Movie Maker. ARGH! What about neverfindout.org’s fantastic ads? Figures CBS would ignore those.

Although it is obvious that Obama befriends people that hate the USA, McCain is not going to do anything about it. On the contrary, McCain has defended Obama’s family values.

At this point I am so upset at McCain that I am seriously thinking about not voting for him. I cannot vote for Obama, and McCain is doing everything he can to lose this election. So maybe McCain does deserve to lose. Unfortunately he is going to take everyone else down with him.

The only one that makes any sense is Palin. But if she makes too many remarks that question Obama’s character then I’m sure that McCain will step in and keep her quiet.

“Don’t vote for McCain, vote against Obama. “

Thanks I needed that.

I just couldn’t find a reason to vote McCain.

McCain needs to turn Obama’s little chat with the bald plummer into an ad!

When Obama becomes dictator, those people who are behind the ad will be purged. So will we.

I bet McCain denounces it. Even though it's really none of his business. The add sounds pretty good and everything in it is relevant to what “that one” really is. If people are foolish enough o elect him, at least these people can say “you knew just what you were getting”.

I'm thinking their latest poll is meant to send McCain a message. Kiss ass and accommodate Wednesday night...then those all important independents will love you. And Letterman won't humiliate you quite so much Thursday night when you report for your session of abuse.

McCain won't be happy. He may spend half of his time in the “debate” apologizing to that decent young man Obama for it. Even though it is being run by people who put country before gratuitous accommodation.

Looks like they want to focus their attention on NH and ME with their bundle of electoral votes, instead.

Then I think we will see the surreal tableau of McCain spending the final weeks of the campaign attacking those who are trying to get his sorry a$$ elected.
