Yep, and of course the law was challenged as not being fair; as akin to a “poll tax” and intimidation of minorities.
Then just how do people without id’s function in society?
Blockbuster? No id, no movie.
Welfare? No id card, no food.
Beer? no id, no sale if you look under 40.
But an id for voting is asking too much. BS.
I have proudly showed my id for voting before the law took effect. I have always showed either my voter registration card or my DL.
Executive inaction. Missing leadership. Too invested with the rich and poor crowds that are crapping on the middle class.
I would be more than happy to go down to our sec. of state to verify voter registration and challenged ballots.
I am being to believe the fix is in.
Agreed. In some areas, the local judge of elections decides, and we know how fair that will be in some precincts/wards.
If you are Republican, failure to produce 5 forms of ID with 3 vouching witnesses.
If you are Democrat, NON-CONSENSUAL relations with a barnyard animal...
I agree. It’s a privilege and a right to be able to vote. If one is so lazy they can’t register, we’re all better off if they just sit on their couch. They won’t take the time to study the issues and candidates. They would be the “sound bites” voters.
“the One” that “we have been waiting for”.
sounds like waiting for a messiah........
You don’t need to buy property there. Just wander into a polling station in Ohio on election day and give the name of the guy who registered 73 times.
without an address, how are we supposed to know which Congressional District, City Council district, etc, etc, etc this ‘voter’ is supposed to see on their ballot??
Does this address-less voter allowed to show up at any precinct they feel like? If so, then what is the point of having an address or creating boundaries for voting districts?
LOL, sweater guy!
it is scary knowing that these lazy people will not learn anything about who they are voting for and yet cant even be bothered to just go down and register to vote.
Something wrong if people like these need groups to get hem to vote.
we need to ask 5 or 10 questions before anyone is allowed to vote that way at least people will know what they are voting for
did you see where Howard stern went out and found Obama voters and then asked them questions on why they were voting for him
scary isn’t the word
course if we did ask questions the Dems would never get into power ever again
I am with you and it makes no sense why DOJ has not sent anyone. Thank God Fitzgerald never closed his ACORN case so he did not have to go back to DOJ to reopen the case but now can press RICO charges against ACORN.
What is Bush doing? What has been Bush doing for the last eight years to ensure voter fraud does not take place? If anyone should be concerned it should be him. Bush has done nothing about preventing voter fraud and especially these last two years as he made nice with the RATs. It makes me ill.
Almost have to doubt his motives in this election since he obviously doesn’t like Sen McCain/Gov Palin and cleaning out corruption mantra. No one needs to slam me on that statement because that is my opinion and it is from someone who WAS a long time supporter but no more. Wouldn’t walk across the street to another Bush fundraiser after the last one.
I thought Michigan was the islamic province of Canada? Why do they get to vote in our elections at all? Will we have to conform the Electoral College to the standards of sharia law? Vote facing Mecca?
Asleep at the wheel is right why the OBAMA/DEAN Machine cause massive fraud. Does he care? My answer right now would be NO!
“I mean why on earth do we even need groups to register people in the first place,”
I’ve also made that point a time or two. Actually, in a sane society, it would be illegal for any third party to go out and register someone else to vote. Simple question: what motive will most likely be driving anyone who goes to all this trouble to register someone else to vote? The only answer is that they want to register people who will vote as the registering third party wishes.
The entire scheme should be illegal. Government at various levels should encourage people to register, advertise it, and assist any with special needs. But it should damned well be illegal for third parties to go out and flush out people to register.
The judge also said, “ if they can produce more proof of residency at the polls.” With the US postal system as it sometimes is, that is not unreasonable. As long as they would have to have proof before voting.
Following that logic, why bother registering at all? Show up and vote. Vote early and often. The judge pro'ly remembers typing his college papers on an old manual typewriter on onionskin paper and using one of those pencil-like erasers with the brush on the end. No clue that someone today with a laser printer can run off all the utility bills one would ever need, saying whatever you want them to say.
Did anyone remind the judge that these aren't long-standing voters who moved and forgot to re-register, they JUST GAVE THE ERRONEOUS INFORMATION???
Over the weekend I discovered that when Harken Energy bought GW Bush’s Spectrum 7 which was on its back and way, way, way overpaid, the majority stockhold in Harken was none other then George Soros.
“The company began as an unprofitable collection of Texas oil wells for investors seeking tax write-offs.
George Soros was a part owner of Harken in 1986 when the company bought Spectrum 7 even though it had reported a net loss of $1.5 million the previous year”
Draw your own conclusions!
