“Above: Somali Pirates leaving Harbor” They have some larger ships (pictures posted in another thread) that act as mother ships.
The larger ships were commandeered in the past.

The British Navy...why am I not surprised? If it’s not us, its them. The totality of the free world lies under the Anglo-American umbrella.
To: Candor7
I do hope they instruct the sailors that fighting back is the proper and expected thing to do when confronted by pirates.
It would be quite an embarrassment for a British naval vessel to fall prey to somali pirates...

Who would take to the high seas with millions of dollars in cargo and not have the weapons and will to fight off some African punks.
Honestly I don't see why everybody is not just shooting small speed boats near Somalia on sight. I'd sink 'em all and let God sort 'em out. I'd paint a Jolly Rodger on the bow for everyone I sank!

Agreed! Let them loose.
As Billy Bones would say, "Cut 'em down like that much pork."

That is what the Somali Pirates will say when they see that boat. “Frigate!, I’m out of here”

I couldn't find any larger ship photographs although I tried.Maybe I need better search terms.
What many may have missed in this thread is the fact that "Private Security Firms" working in Iraq may get involved. We might see Blackwater teams on some ships, paid by Lloyds of London.
I have a feeling that if that is the case, we are about to see a fair collection of dead pirates in the future, and the larger pirate ships holed and sunk using shoulder launched anti-tank missiles.
That is a job I would apply for ;-)

A modern dhow suspected of piracy
You should be able to find some more pictures here:

I find it oddly comforting that there are still pirates in the world. Not EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY is being controled.
