They may not accept it directly under that name, but it certainly goes to all their myriad off-shoots and local corporations.

Okay. Who can point me in the right direction to verify this? If this is the case they they don’t, count me as being misinformed here. I feel better knowing my tax dollars don’t go to ACORN, but I have heard too many people say it does.

Anyone have any links to verify this?

BigDaddyTX, your links (Particularly the one at http://www.nw.org/network/nfmcp/documents/AwardeesbyGrantAmount-FINALforwebstie.pdf ) seem to contradict them...

Thanks for posting it. Will investigate later...

ACORN is claiming that they receive no money from the federal government? That's a flat-out, absolute, brass plated lie. Other than that, this is a fine article.

Idiots who don’t think Americans are smart enough to check where Congress sends money—sadly they are right about the average American. It sickens me to even pay taxes that go to that group!

ACORN is claiming that they receive no money from the federal government?

The Title of the thread was "ACORN does not accept government funding...".

I think they receive money, in the sense they direct who gets the mortgages, and they get a percent of the deal.

But technically they (ACORN) aren't receiving government funding.

Depends on the meaning of ....
