Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama talked about gun control and the Second Amendment during a radio interview in Philadelphia on Friday morning.
Illinois Senator Barack Obama was a guest on KYW's sister station, WPHT-AM 1210.
Obama told talk show host Michael Smerconish he's a firm believer in the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms -- but admits there must be some limits:
"I do believe in some gun safety measures -- so, for example, with all the shootings in Philadelphia, most recently police officers, I want to make sure that we can trace back guns and bullets that are used in crimes back where they were purchased, so we can make sure that in fact the laws are being enforced."
He assured Smerconish, an admitted gun owner, and other lawful weapon owners their rights to bear arms under the Constitution would be protected under an Obama administration.

Can we say registration of not just firearms, but ammunition as well?

Yes, yes Barry. Talk about guns. Please, talk about them a lot. Tell us of “common sense gun laws.”
We need you to screw this up.

I’ve been pre-occupied as of late (family issues), but from what I remember, it seemed like Smerconish sort of supported Obama. Is that true, or am I jumping to conclusions?

he has manufactured support out of the issue of believing Obama will go after Bin Laden than McCain, even thogh callers point out there is absolutely nothing in BO’s Bio that would make anyone believe that’s anything but fantasy talk.

Maybe under an Obama presidency we should register stones and bladed weapons. Aren’t those the weapons of choice under sharia law?
Gun control is being able to hit your target.

Obama and the Democrat's want to take away your right to have firearms. We don't want to give up any of our rights in America.

This ammunition ID stuff is totally bogus.
You cannot trace a spent round back to a lot number, back to a sale...yada yada yada.
It’s just a way to raise prices and reduce supplies...
in other words...stop gun owners.

Reasonable gun control under Obamanations Socialist Regime.....
Today I fired 3 rounds, had to go down and retrieve each round, package in hazmat DOT approved lead packaging, wrote a statement as to why I fired three rounds at said paper target , pay for notary to document and validate my statement. Go to fed up and send spent bullets, brass and paper target and statements to state gun control czar and wait 6 months for authorization to purchase 3 more rounds to replace 3 that were fired.
Yep......reasonable.

If the Republicans had any brains (yes, I know), they could deflect this whole issue, silence the gun-control lobby, and disarm (ha,ha) the RATS by “closing the gun show loophole” by simply saying anybody buying a gun at a gun show has to undergo the same instant check as a buyer at a gun store. Before you flame me, remember that it only requires a 2 minute phone call, and that most gun shows already have this requirement. All it takes is a licensed dealer with a telephone to perform the checks. There could be a section of the law saying any time a purchase is unable to be verified due to the inability to reach the records center, the purchase can go through anyway.

Do a Google search and on guns and Obama and the advertising and top results create the image of an Obama who's a big supporter of gun rights, the innocent victim of a smear campaign by the right wing to distort his "pro-gun" views. It's stomach turning propaganda.
From the NRA's www.gunbanobama.com website:
"Obama would be the most anti-gun president in American history"

So-called rednecks and all these “life long Republicans” who are voting for him will have to learn the ugly truth after he is president.
He says he supports the 2d amendment. Of course we have to believe him because, it’s not like he ever lied before.
Ha ha.
