ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A state legislative panel has concluded that Sarah Palin abused her power in the firing of the state's public safety commissioner.

The findings were released after lawmakers emerged Friday from a private session in Anchorage where they spent more than six hours discussing a politically charged ethics report into the firing by Gov. Palin.

Fox News' headline is wrong. The Abuse of Power part isn't for the firing of Commissioner Monegan.

The report says:

"[...] Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.

[The investigative report concludes that a family grudge wasn't the sole reason for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan but says it likely was a contributing factor.]

So now they can read her mind? What a bunch of crap!
Is it or is it not up to her who serves in her cabinet?

Thanks for the thumb nail sketch of the findings. Very helpful.

Those facts wouldn’t convict a dog of being a canine.

This week the MSM repeated over and over “the economy is the only thing that matters” with the Ayers issue.

Wonder if that will continue with this/sarc

Todd was the “guilty” party here, and I use that word in quotes. Wooten is scum. At the same time, Todd stepped over the line in trying to get him fired.

The Governor’s spouse is not supposed to be going around to all the officials in the state trying to get a cop fired. Reading the report, they really don’t have much on Gov. Palin except at the beginning, and then she dropped it. Todd Palin kept at it, and it was inappropriate.

Wooten has grounds to sue Todd Palin in civil court. He has a decent shot of winning. Although it makes no real difference since they are a couple, his grounds against Gov. Palin are much weaker.

This report isn’t great, but it could have been much worse. Todd needs to apologize and fall on his sword in an interview saying that Gov. Palin wouldn’t have condoned what he did. Then it will be over.

Mccain will allow the media to trash her til election day but we have to be civil concerning obama.

Yep, you're probably right. I'm getting really disgusted with McCain and his inept campaign...

Regarding Troopergate: All the sheeple will remember will be: "Sarah Palin Abused Her Power" and will vote for Obama The Messiah. Mark my words...

Yeah, I'm really becoming a pessimist...

As hard as the Dems tried to twist things in the report, there was no wrongdoing!

What the Dems doing the investigation did to Palin was worse than anything she did!

What the ****** kind of finding is that. That is not a finding, that is an opinion statement. A finding would be supported by documented, physical facts, not psychic readings.

That's the way I read it also. Very weak "findings." Nevertheless, the MSM and left will run with it.

msnbc.com just blasts sarah abused power “unlawfully”

MSNBC has an absolute LIE. It says in the document directly "Governor Palin's firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire..."

I’m surprised CNN is the one reporting it correctly, they found she broke no laws. Glen Beck must be running the editing board tonight- that, or they are trying to steal Conservative viewers away from Fox..

As the paper reported it, they found that she “might” have had personal reasons, and then they go on to say that there were also “other” reasons.

I have never seen such an obviously political finding by a supposed “ethics” panel. Amazing.

Never Give Up, Never Surrender.
It is Obama’s race to lose, and the name Odinga may hand that loss to him.
