ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A state legislative panel has concluded that Sarah Palin abused her power in the firing of the state's public safety commissioner.
The findings were released after lawmakers emerged Friday from a private session in Anchorage where they spent more than six hours discussing a politically charged ethics report into the firing by Gov. Palin.

IANAL, so this is all just my understanding, but... Read the report. It's not just about the Monegan firing. It concluded she violated AS 39.52.110(a) of the Ethics Act, based on her actions in trying to get Trooper Wooten fired.
The problem is, they slapped the Trooper on the wrist, and couldn't reopen the disciplinary investigation, so her pressure to fire him was deemed inappropriate.
It also basically said that without her testimony, the claims against her weren't refuted.
IMO, rather than what she allegedly did, she should have pushed for charges against Trooper Wooten, as he (seems to have) admitted crimes during the previous investigation.
Damn - an Ethics violation regardless is not a good thing to have hanging out there. I just got done reading pages 44-75 and unfortunately, and I am sad to say, she appears to have crossed the line some.... not a lot mind you, but enough where she should have had someone else (and not Todd) do the dirty work. This is gonna be a field day for the Dembags. Still, it’s our turn to keep the heat on the Osama bin Obama
here’s the email I received from CNN:
Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in a state official’s firing but did not violate the law, an Alaska legislative panel finds.
That makes two of us. I’ve stopped watching FOX completely except for Fox and Friends on weekday mornings. The weekend Fox and Friends hosts are Obamanoid Tinglers.
What the ****** kind of finding is that. That is not a finding, that is an opinion statement. A finding would be supported by documented, physical facts, not psychic readings.
Fox news reported it this way? They didn’t mention finding 2 where it says she broke no laws. Even CNN reported both findings.
F Fox
This has more to do with her not reigning in the first dude than anything.
She is clear in my opinion.
Bogus and partisan!
Suck it up!
This is no time to go weak kneed!
See my post # 51.
One little BS sentence, obviously inserted by the DemRats, and then several paragraphs explaining that Palin did nothing wrong.
The truth is there. Pass it on!
And say “My friends, we ran an honorable campaign....”
edit:
Mccain will allow the media to trash her til election day but we have to be civil concerning obama.
Wow! I’m surprised they headlined with both abused power AND broke no laws.
That’s actually a balanced and fair interpretation.
Meanwhile, Obama’s buddies in ACORN are committing felonies across America stealing the election.
Our democracy is under attack by people who are hell bent on stealing elections, the stock market is in the tank worldwide, Farakhan has appointed Barack Obama as the Messiah, and the front page news is that Sarah Palin "abused her power" bud didn't break any laws.
AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
5,4,3,2,1......... Sarah gone, and Mac will ask Hillary to be VP.
Hey at this point anything could happen.
Governor Palins firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.
branchflower reports Palin was with in her rights, see http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2102752/posts
