ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A state legislative panel has concluded that Sarah Palin abused her power in the firing of the state's public safety commissioner.
The findings were released after lawmakers emerged Friday from a private session in Anchorage where they spent more than six hours discussing a politically charged ethics report into the firing by Gov. Palin.

A new Stargate Atlantis is on, Matt is tied up now.. :->
How can you abuse power but not break the law? Branchflower just had to get that jab in there even though he knew there were no grounds that she broke the law.
Did you read the report? She was exonerated by the final finding but yet they claim she abused her power. You can’t be within your rights as a Governor,as the reports says, and still be abusing your power. The whole hearing was a setup and a hatchet job,she broke no laws, she did no wrong. The dems however abused their power when they held this Kangaroo court.
That's correct.
BUT...if they were honest, they'd say, "Panel: Palin Abused Power, but Firing was Legal"
“They rode to the ends of the earth (literally) to dig up dirt on this lady and this is the worst they can do? Hell, I’ve committed bigger sins since lunch and saying Hell is not included in that list, Gosh Darnit.”
Not a surprise. I knew this would be the result. They’ll never tie her directly to it.
They already had the result pre-ordained.
Please read the thread. It has been explained many times that there were four findings, and you are combining two.
You’re right. That’s what it should say, but the report went off topic, and it’s the MSM fortunate luck that they can spin it that way.
There's the finding: "likely."
Not very "certain" is it?
Then they go on to say she had every right to fire the guy.
Rephrase: "We're not sure she did anything wrong, and her decisions are justifiable."
Political witch hunt.
P-M, I'm sick to death of this. Just sick of it.
And the dumbocraps will make a big issue of Governor Palin LEGALLY firing a wife-beter and a snake who would taser a 10 year old kid.
He should thank God she didn't go after him the way he deserved.
Bingo.
And what was the investigation supposed to be about?
Moneghan’s firing!
You are reading into the opinion statement as a conclusion, ignoring the 'in spit of that' transitional statement. The opinion of 'abuse of power' was not a conclusion, it was a way for them to throw an opinion in there. The conclusion stated was she was within her rights under the law.
“Regarding Troopergate: All the sheeple will remember will be: “Sarah Palin Abused Her Power” and will vote for Obama The Messiah. Mark my words...
Yeah, I’m really becoming a pessimist...”
It’s hard to be optimistic when people on this very board are cheerleading this because they want someone else in 2012.
The DUmmies already got a hold of this one.
poll to freep
not as if this conclusion wasn’t know from Day One
I would like to see someone post a new thread “Alan Colmes Endorses Child Abue” since he is so very excited that Gov Palin and her husband intervened to fire the child abusing State Trooper ... according to Alan it was her abuse of power that was more important than the abuse of Monogan’s stepson.
Yeah. They could impeach her.
Good luck with that!
She only has an 80% approval rating.
But they’ll probably try it.
She said,he said. She says she was within her rights to can him.
That's really what this boils down to, and she should express it in those terms. Although liberals often accept such logic when it's concealed, even a liberal should recognize the absurdity of it when expressed in simple form.
Palin should announce she is going find out who is responsible for this economic crisis, and abuse her power by firing them all.
That would be brilliant.
