After days of watching in silence, McCain calms the crowd at his Minnesota town meeting.
I want everyone to be respectful. And lets make sure we are, because thats the way politics is done in America.
Tells one supporter who says hes scared of an Obama presidency: I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States.
After a woman calls Obama an Arab, McCain interrupts to say: No, maam. He is a decent family man, citizen

You are either self-deluded or trying to delude others. Four years of an Obamanation will destroy so much and so many people that it will take a generation or two to recover, and it will be much harder to recover due to machinations, appointments (think SCOTUS) and all the rest.
I’ve read on other forums people saying “we need to get really bad under Obama to fire up conservatives” - more like fire up the freaking gas ovens - the guy is a modern day Hitler.
Well, McCain would be first in line to turn the ovens on, so there you go...
“Well, the whole.......we dont like McCain very much because hes a socialist but we have to get him elected because of how dangerous an Obama Presidency would be........has all been based on FEAR. Based on how very SCARY an Obama Presidency would be. Now, either that is true or it is not........which is it? Who is right? I hate much of what Obama stands for. The idea that he is more of a socialist or more of a big govt spender than McCain though is laughable.”
You “hate” only MUCH of what Obama stands for? Not every single thing he stands for? That means you are a plant or a liberal. And to say that he is not more of a socialist or big spender than McCain seals it.
Troll.
What the hell kind of comment is that?
Obama supported and counseled Odinga to incite tribal slaughter, therefore my comment is suitable for Obama. He hates white people, he’s a marxist, and buddies with terrorists, both domestic and foreign.
To say that about McCain is un-freaking-believable.
Thanks, McCain, you’ve just shown us once again that all that inspiring “stand up, stand up.... FIGHT, FIGHT.....” rhetoric at the end of your RNC speech was just that, rhetoric.
You don’t believe it yourself.
You are willing to roll over and allow this fraudulent lying socialist weasel, the most far-left major party candidate in US history, to waltz into the White House because YOU, John McCain, cannot lead a competent hard-hitting campaign that targets your opponents glaring weaknesses.
McCain deserves to lose on Nov. 4, but America (well half of it anyway) does not deserve the socialist miasma that will follow.
If McCain cannot articulate the glaring and grotesque failures in Obama’s character, including a complete lack of decency toward our troops and severely defective far-left views and allegiances, then McCain does not deserve to win on Nov. 4.
Unfortunately, he’s what we’ve got to work with.... but all of us have plenty of reason to be disgusted that McCain is more interested in defending Obama’s fraudulent character than in stopping that socialist POS from becoming President.
BS. The candidates are responsible for attracting voters, not the other way around. Your problem is in assuming this is 'your' election to lose. I'm one voter, and I'll vote for someone that represents my views.
Alright, that’s enough. See ya.
Hehe. Don't know yet. Not Obama. Not McCain. Probably not Barr. Might have to write in.
Thank GOD, I mean thanks, Jim.
Well forgive me for taking the election serious.
I have not voted for a Democrat in over 35 years and I don't plan to start now! And I rather offended that you would imply such.
I vehemently disagree with you.
You never know. McCain's understanding of the Constitution is so bad that we may get a decent SCOTUS nominee purely by accident.
Good bring it on. Let's settle it once and for all.
"Senator Obama is not of Arab ancestry as far as I know, nor is he a practising Muslim. He IS a far-left liberal with many many radical ties and that's why he must not be elected in November."
Polly, consider this: that the Democrats may and most likely do send “plants” to McCain rallies to act like wild-eyed right wingers and McCain is just saying, No, we’re not like that.
