After days of watching in silence, McCain calms the crowd at his Minnesota town meeting.
I want everyone to be respectful. And lets make sure we are, because thats the way politics is done in America.
Tells one supporter who says hes scared of an Obama presidency: I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States.
After a woman calls Obama an Arab, McCain interrupts to say: No, maam. He is a decent family man, citizen

I share the same hunch. McCain will be the same calm person he was in the WH meeting when it blew up after Obama caused it to blow up.
This is a scary time right now because rioting is being actively instigated in the black community I learned today.
“How is McCain telling someone in a crowd not to be afraid of Obama a ringing endorsement?”
Well, the whole.......we don’t like McCain very much because he’s a socialist but we have to get him elected because of how dangerous an Obama Presidency would be........has all been based on FEAR. Based on how very SCARY an Obama Presidency would be. Now, either that is true or it is not........which is it? Who is right? I hate much of what Obama stands for. The idea that he is more of a socialist or more of a big govt spender than McCain though is laughable.
Name one program McCain has mentioned that he would cut. Saying that he is against “pork” or that he will make cuts across the board do not count. That is Democrat talk for cutting spending increases. For instance, spending for a program has been going up by 4% a year, but under him, the spending increase will be cut down to 3% a year. That is not a cut. Democrats use that tactic to accuse Republicans of cutting programs all the time. McCain won’t name one specific program that he would cut. None of them ever do and people fall for the same old BS every time.
If any southern state bolts, I’ll move there in a heartbeat.
Texas was once a separate country....maybe they should re-consider their status in the Union if Barry Hussein prevails.
If, God forbid, Obama wins (or steals the election with help from his ACORN pals), I expect to see membership in the Alaska Independence Party increase on a dramatic scale.
McCain should NOT have said Obama is a decent family man.
He could have said ANYTHING but that.
BAD, BAD mistake.
McCain’t won’t admit what many of his supporters, like those in the story, and most of us here, have figured out for themselves: the Presidential vetting process is broken and it has been easily infiltrated by a communist puppet of self-admitted terrorist Ayers. That’s why the fear, duh!
Frankly I am more then a little tired of the media being the blamed for every negative thing that happens with/to/for the Republican Party. It is true the media is bias. But that's the cards we're dealt so suck it up and get on with it.
to at least try a little if he's going to have any chance.
Believe me I've tried to support McCain. This is a very scary time now with the ecomony in shambles and we need a strong President. And with McCain I'll just stab my base in the back again to get more undecided votes is not my kind of president. I've thought about this for some time now. I just can't vote for McCain.
What the heck kind of message is that? <<<<<<<<<
I think he did the right thing. I’m suspicious of the person he was talking to, as I think the other side is planting people to act or sound like extreme wackos. I just heard news reports that at a Palin rally, there were people shouting “kill the n________”, the innuendo being that Palin is attracting nutcase racists. In McCain’s case, it’s best he didn’t get suckered into making some snarky remark. He probably knows that O has trouble on the horizon anyway.
“2012 ticket WILL BE RINO-FREE”
They said the same about 2000 and we’ve got stuck with a RINO-fest anyway.
We’ve been sold down the river and have more BIG GOVERNMENT now than ever before....so much for that SURGE toward conservatism.
Well, I may be disappointed with the way things are going, but voting for Obama is just plain suicide, in my opinion.
RE: “Why isnt McCain reminding people that we are at war with people who want to destroy us ? and handing the Presidency over to a liberal like Obama in a time of war is dangerous.
McCain is the wuss”
Sorry you are so distressed, but can’t help thinking this is probably your first presidential election as a voter. Is that a fair statement of the situation? Please, please calm down and try to move ahead in a positive manner.
You are possibly the biggest TROLL on this forum.
Obama and Soros PAY people to post what you post, and you are consistent, what makes you better than a dem plant?? NOTHING.
You aren’t standing up for conservatism, you are a DISSENT troll.
JIM ROBINSON is voting for McCain and owns this forum, please address ALL of your posts to Jim Robinson and let him know that you are here to promote Chuck Baldwin. You have Chuck Baldwin 08 in your tagline.
I will fight for conservatism, I will fight President John McCain starting January 20, 2009.
Dream on. Sorry to be negative, but let’s get real
RE: “So what, the Barry goon squad is now going to come out blabbing the talking point—McCain said Obama is not really a terrorist but in fact a great guy! What the heck kind of message is that?”
Love it! And I agree totally — this is much ado about nothing! Even some of the right-wingers on talk radio have said before now that if Obama happens to “win” it won’t be the end of the world and that he is not the anti-Christ. He’s wrong, and has very shady friends, and is probably way too involved in the various scandals that surround him but who could really argue that it appears he is an OK guy.
Heck, Hillary and McCain are quite friendly; imagine if she was his opposition now. She could be throwing daggers and he’d be complimenting her. That’s how he is — A lot of people here need to calm down. Oh, and there’s probably a fair amount of strategic thinking involved in Mac’s comments than we know, too.
I hear ya.
I'd say that sums it up pretty nicely.
RE: “I wish I could put up a yard sign...I fear even a small sticker in a window would cause a large rock to go through my living room. Be happy you can show your support!”
I share your problem — you must be in a very Blue state. I’m in the L.A. area of CA, surrounded by the Zero’s faithful. No signs of any kind for me. That would likely be very expensive.
Some good points.
Things are why past that however. I wish they were not!
Many good conservatives were banned here for looking at Mayor Guiliani!
God bless you... I know have your heart in this.
