Conservatives know by now that the dominant liberal media is not just out to criticize Gov. Sarah Palin. They are on a drive to destroy her. But conservatives are missing the reason why.
It's not really about defeating John McCain. Running mates do not decide a presidential election. The real reason is the future. Never again will the Left media (New York Times; Washington Post; the networks; Hollywood) allow a young politician to ascend to the leadership of a national conservative movement -- at least not without all-out character assassination.
The media have learned their lesson. They generally tolerated the rise of Ronald Reagan. They didn't take him that seriously. And when he astounded them by trouncing Jimmy Carter, it wasn't that big of deal.

This election proved one thing: the media can elect a red wet noodle.
So watch for Rinos to try to bring her down too.

If this author thinks conservatives don't already know this, he is an idiot.
The MAIN reason that Democrats HATE her, and I mean vile, spitting hate, is that she attacks one of the pillars of the Democrat Party voting base, WORKING WOMEN.
She got where she is, without being beholden to Democrats.
Working women are often swayed by Democrat “unassailable Victim” attacks, and these won’t work against Palin. She’a working mother, so she KNOWS working women’s problems, and that line of attack cannot be used against her.
The same applies with handicapped and sexism attacks.
Some of them already are!
The liberal media went after Palin with extreme prejudice the minute she was announced the week before the convention speech. I have to agree with you: “The very worst thing that could happen to the MSM is to be deemed irrelevant by the masses.” Blank them.

If this is true, and I have no doubt that it is, then they will not be able to destroy her, no matter how hard they try.
This is, of course, on God’s time not ours, though I am praying that He means NOW!

Rush had it right, Republicans are truly running against the Democrats AND the Media. Transparacy is gone - it is an all out fight between the Conservative movement and the MSM/Democrats. Win or Lose in November we are in a new age. As far as I’m concerned, Game On!
