27 Days Left -- What did you do TODAY to help Republicans win?
Free Republic Exclusive | 10/9/08 | Antoninus

There are 27 days left for you to make a difference in the 2008 political season.

What you are doing in a POSITIVE way to help elect McCain/Palin and Republicans and defeat Obama/Biden and the Democrats?

Please note that the following actions do not count:

1.) Seagulling on a thread highlighting positive developments.

2.) Offering the McCain campaign advice on what they should be doing (unless you're a paid political consultant with years of experience, that is).

3.) Thinking you're funny by saying, "I did nothing." The prospect of Barack Obama as president of the U.S.A. is not funny.

There are many positive, meaningful things we can and should be doing to help achieve victory. Much of this involves volunteering for the campaign and getting out into your community with the truth about Obama and his abysmal record, inexperience, and shady associates.

The media won't do it, so it's up to us. Are you up to the challenge?

If so, sound off on this thread!

I believe we are at the tail-end of the "bread and circus" zeitgeist that began after WWII.

What comes after? Four generations have been marinated with gimme-gimme-mine. How is the next going to be any different?

if we don't get that from our political leaders, it's up to us to do it.

Or perhaps we need better political leaders. Face it - McCain was selected for us by the media; the primiaries were a farce.

if anybody wants the voter2voter online McCain/Palin campaign phone bank, ping me.

if you can’t find yard signs in your area, call your local rep. congressional campaign(s) - they get shipments.

And you never hesitate to trot that out, do ya Sarge? Makes a real big impression on a fellow combat veteran like me!

I watched you a couple of years ago treat some folks that have reached out to support the troops like absolute crap. And now I'm watching you do the same to a Navy veteran and POW. So if I'm ****ing on your uniform, then I guess you're doing the same to his. Ain't that right, Rambo?

Please go back under your rock, and let the rest of us work on improving this country.

I phone banked yesterday, gave yard signs out to neighbors today and am going to the McCain rally in Lakeville, Minnesota tomorrow. I’ll be doing GOTV calls in the weeks ahead at the local GOP HQ.

It feels good to actually go out and do something to help the campaign.

Sitting on FR most of the day with the negative nellies does nothing for one’s personal outlook. I know, I’ve been there. :(

I doubt he would relate to it, plus I have to be very careful what I post there or it can be pulled by anyone I guess. Haven’t had experience with that yet.

I’ll keep it in mind though.

Yeah, actually they are doing a pretty damned fine job. It's just that cybercouch potatoes think they know more than the folks with the real data.

In Delaware you have to volunteer to get a sign. Such is the shortage. Still, I wonder how the campaign came up short.

So you’re bringing an ancient arguement that you had nothing to do with, back up now?

Let me give you the same line they used on me: wearing the uniform doesn’t insure you from being an ass, or doesn’t insulate you from criticism. It counts for you, for me, and for the candidate in question.

You and I are never going to resolve our differences, and that’s where it stands.

Lord I really hoped that was the case back when Sen. Dole ran. It wasn't. So, excuse me if I don't share your optimism.

Dole was in a pretty hopeless situation--running against a sitting president with a populist nutcase with unlimited funding running to his right.

Well, I won’t stop praying. But I’m not sure I’m giving in to media psych either - I know better than that.

I just feel that, certain things are coming about, that certain things must be for other things to happen.

I recall the disciple that cut off the Romans ear - trying to stop fate - when they were taking Jesus to the Cross.

I know that those who think as I do are considered a bit nutty by some, but, I really think a dark age is coming and there is nothing I (or any of us) can do to stop it..

I'm waging a one-Ridgerunner "knife-fight-in-a-telephone-booth" campaign against local Rat kool-aid drinkers on the local news rag's online forum.

Carry on. You're in an important state. Every vote counts.

Just for the record, Obama is not Jesus and his election will not lead to the salvation of mankind.

But you knew that already... ;-)

My Granddaughters, and I have been delivering door hangers for all the Republican Candidates. It’s all tied together, if people vote for local Republicans, they will usually vote for the top of the ticket, and visa versa.

LOL. Those cretins had a bright red target on me for a while. I was honored.

Well, I am a bit ashamed of my childish behavior today. I went to a grocery store today and parked next to this car that had some very offensive bumper stickers ALL over the car. Many were very derogatory slogans about Bush and references to racism against blacks and many Obama stickers. It almost had a Patridge Family bus look about it because of the many bumper stickers.

My trip to the store was to pick only a couple of things and on the change that the car would still be there I bought three packs of Kool-aid. When I came back out the car was still there so I put a pack under each windshield wiper. They had two in the front and one in the back.

I know...I know...That was childish, but I could not resist.
