The McCain campaign, in a continuing effort to link Barack Obama to domestic terrorism, released a statement Wednesday from a New York supporter, recounting how his family home was firebombed by the radical 1960s group founded by Obama supporter William Ayers.
But the McCain supporter, John M. Murtagh, has his own ties to radical protesters: He served as a lawyer for a Catholic priest who led protests at an abortion clinic that turned violent.
Mr. Murtagh embarked on a media campaign in the spring to publicize the 1970 firebombing of his family home by the Weather Underground, the group that Mr. Ayers helped to found. His account of that incident, posted on the Web, has been linked to by right-leaning bloggers. Mr. Murtagh, a lawyer and a member of the Yonkers, N.Y., city council, gave a television interview last May to Fox News's Greta Van Susteren, and recently appeared on the Fox News show hosted by Sean Hannity. Mr. Murtagh said he was nine years old at the time his family was targeted because his father, a judge, had presided over a trial of members of the radical Black Panther party.
On Wednesday, the McCain campaign amplified those efforts by issuing a statement from Mr. Murtagh. "Barack Obama may have been a child when William Ayers was plotting attacks against U.S. targets -- but I was one of those targets," the statement read. "Barack Obama's friend tried to kill my family."
Mr. Ayers, now an education professor at the University of Illinois in Chicago, was an early supporter of Sen. Obama. Charges against him were dismissed in the 1980s after procedural errors by federal investigators came to light.

LOL! LOL!

Oh, OK. We're going to engage in a round of "6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon"? This is hardly equivalent to the DIRECT connection between Obama & Ayers.
This author draws a moral equivilent of bombing US property and protesting (peacefully) abortion? wow

Sarah Palin and The Nellie Olsons of the Media
This tea is so weak it’s practically water.
So legal work for a priest is the equivalent of someone who firebombed your home and tried to kill your parents.
Outrageous, but this is exactly what Obama and the leftists believe.
The guy was firebombed as a kid, and now he is portrayed as a villain for daring to stand up to these scumbags!!!
yeah they are not serious that they are trying to rubbish a man who family was almost slaughtered by Ayers to attack him for defending a priest. Oh we have really jumped the shark.
“...He served as a lawyer for a Catholic priest who led protests at an abortion clinic that turned violent...”
Rent-a-mob attacks peaceful protesters = protesters radicals
Only in the deranged minds of DU
That’s all they got! LOL! A McCain supporter who is pro-life!
Yeah all those evil terrorist prolifers praying the Rosary at the clinics, these people are the real threat to American..
Bill Ayers was involved in several bombings and murders.
Father Murphy was accused of trespassing.
My mistake. I see that it was the Lawyer, Murtagh, who was attacked by The Weathermen. I thought that they were making the usual “Pro Lifers are Domestic Terrorist” argument, and trying to tar McCain with it.
My apologies...
No comparison here! The dems are so desperate! It is laughable.
This is Obama’s answer???
Wow, hit me with your best shot...
What a joke.
Reciting the "Pater Noster" is violence to the baby killers.
And I plan on voting for McCain.
I hope none of this ever comes out and sinks the McCain candidacy.
The WSJ is a joke anymore.
No better than Newsweak.
Apparently she also draws a moral equivalency between bombing homes and buildings in an effort to KILL people with proving legal representation to accused criminals.
I thought the Democrats WANTED every accused criminal to have good legal representation.
It appears their hypocrisy is interfering with their hyperbole - or vice-versa.
I wish I could find the Nun suicide bomber scene from American Carol.
