Repeat a lie often enough and people will believe it. That has worked well for Obama, Biden and Pelosi in laying blame on failed Bush economic policies.
The Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac (F & F) fiasco and the Bail-Out are tied directly to the Clinton Administration and Congressional Democrats. Its laudable to make mortgages available to most people; unfortunately, too many could not afford them. Bad lending practices are at the core of this mess.
Why were F & F unregulated? It was by courting politicians with lobbying budgets and political contributions. The top three U.S. senators in the F & F trough are Democrats and include, after less than four years, Barack Obama!

Another that every single American should be asking is why Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac were exempted from falling under Sarbanes-Oxley?
Why were Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac exempted from falling under Sarbanes-Oxley?
Slight correction: it was the social engineering platform advanced by the Democrat party to promote “affordable housing” that enabled the mortgage industry to engage in bad lending practices that led to this problem.
Another thread on FR tonight says subprime loans are still being advertised on radio - even mentions the Community Reinvestment Act. Why not? Congress sure isn’t going to turn off the tap.
GOOD QUESTION AND WHO LOBBIED FOR THIS?

Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis
They`re still doing it,I heard a commercial today for CRA homes, painted and ready to move into.
The Dems treated Fannie and Freddie like a welfare agency.
The Republican Congress was more on the golf course than doing their job and now so is the Democrat Congress. This is the reason why the Republicans lost their seats and the Democrats have a low approval rating.
They both have failed the American people because of corruption that runs all the way to the top.
I guess you missed the info that both Bush and McCain tried to reform the FMs but were denied by the Dems. Ninety percent of the blame goes to Dems. They created it, they fomented it, and they blocked attempts to reform the system.
Tried?
I guess you must be in denial. You much rather see your party benefit at the expense of the American people.
I guess you also missed Bush’s “Ownership Society” speech when people were busy getting homes they had no business owning.
In denial? Who created, fostered, and turned down reform of the FMs? Republicans aren’t totally blameless, but name the Dems who sponsored reform? Bush pushed for minority ownership, but he wasn’t trying to blackmail banks into the bad loans. Blaming both parties eqaully just doesn’t wash.
