Obama's policy, which anticipates eliminating imports by 2012 or earlier...
Iceland was 80 percent dependent on imported coal and oil in the 1970s and was among the poorest economies in Europe.
Today, Iceland is 100 percent energy independent, and according to the International Monetary Fund is now the fourth most affluent nation on Earth.

Iceland teeters on the brink of bankruptcy...October 7, 2008

.
LOL.
It’s funny how it’d be a “gold rush” created by taxpayers’ money.
This volcanic island near the Arctic Circle is on the brink of becoming the first “national bankruptcy” of the global financial meltdown.

I read his policy on his website. Many of the “new jobs” will be goobermint jobs. Also, how can there be a “gold rush” when Obambi plans to tax the living you-know-what outta businesses.
Zero will promise anything, and he’s too stupid to know
we know just how stupid he is.
Economists, investors, the Fed and the US Treasury and all BUBBLELOVERS have been grasping for a credit derivative bubble to replace the bursting one...THIS IS IT!! GO DOGGIES!!
...followed by a bust.
He’ll just make everyone equal to the point where you can’t afford anything..... Then whala! Independence!
Fine but first let’s see just one other business venture Obama or Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has done that generated a private sector profit...just one.
Either this guy and/or the IMF are extremely stupid since Iceland is trying to borrow billions from Russia in order to keep their economy afloat.
Come on now. Don’t ya know that thousands of uneducated oppressed folks will move to regions where they can create their own windmill and sell the profits to the local General Store?
Yes, Robert, Iceland, a wonderful example for us all. These Global Warming/Climate Change nuts absolutely refuse to give up the scam, regardless of the science.
Ethanol was a boondoggle at taxpayers expense and helped inflate prices. Solar and Wind are just simply not far enough along to run American industry and transportation and may not ever be. Let’s cover Robbies house with solar panels and put 10,000 windmills out in his backyard, which of course will wear out before they produce enough energy to account for their initial cost. You’ve talked the talk now walk that talk, Rob.
So in four years we will all run our cars on what? Fairy dust?
I hate to think how much we would have to inflate our tires to make up for all the oil we import.
Yeah , you will need a PHD in some off the wall BS to get a job ;-))
Something ain’t right....
If there was gold in green energy, the utilities would already have developed it by now.
Green is nothing but BS. It has it's niche, but in it's present form it can't develop the vast amount of energy necessary for a modern economy. Even the green socialists admit this and say we need to conserve to fill the green-conventional "gap."
I admit that a scientific breakthrough could change this, but the government can't force or wish invention. Inventors make invention, sometimes by sheer determination, sometimes by dumb luck. When the magic green invention comes along that makes it more powerful and economical than oil, coal, and nuclear power, I will embrace it. Until then, there is no gold there.
Poor Bobby should do a commercial on why you shouldn’t soak your brain in a bathtub of cocaine.
2012, that’s 4 years, I thought he said 10 years?
In any event, just once I’d like a so called journalist or McCain/Palin for that matter, ask him how he is going to build the infrastructure for whatever the “alternative” will be in 10 years, and how in the heck is he going to turn over the fleet of cars and trucks in this country in 10 years.
0bama wants to spend $15 billion a year on green energy to make us independent of foreign oil in ten years. $14 billion of which will go to lawyers fighting the sighting of such projects for environmental reasons. The end results will be no new energy sources for 30 years, gas rationed at $20 a gallon and a bunch of rich lawyers.
