Chris Wallace just spoke to a McCain debate prepper and he suggests that McCain won’t go after Obama too hard. Nothing like Ayers, Wrights, etc... WTF is he thinking?

Perhaps they’ve finally discovered it’s not good strategy to pre-announce their plans? (I can dream, can’t I?)

Odd that a staffer/prepper would divulge this. I don't buy in to this.

I bet McCain mentions Wright & Ayers at least twice. Look at the coverage Palin has been getting and look at how well it’s playing. In for a penny in for a pound.

And now let’s turn to sports....Jim, i hear you spoke to an assistant coach about tonight’s big game. What did he tell you? Well Tom, he suggested they were going to go pretty conservative. Run run run. Not much passing. Which seems strange to me, because they’ve been airing out the ball a lot in this week’s practices. But that’s what he said.

In other words, what they say and what they do before the big event may be two different things. Remember McCain was in the military. They know a little something about head fakes.

No, no, no - he needs to be exactly like he was yesterday.

McCain has to win this crowd and he won’t do that going wholly negative. Unfortunately, William Ayres could be Barney Fife as far as most Americans are concerned. He’s a college professor who was never prosecuted and who cavorts with a ton of Republicans in Chicago. He lives openly in Chicago as a free member of society. He’s written a mess of books on education of late and gotten tens of millions in grants from big nonprofit foundations. Americans have a hard time in 30 second sound bites to tell the difference between that William Ayres and the terrorist of 30 years ago..

If Sinclair did one of those hour-long documentaries like it did for the Swift Boaters in ‘04, then we’d have some penetration of the truth into the American psyche.

McCain could be thinking that this is the mushy middle that he can’t be too hard on Obambi.

Cause he knows that Chris Wallace will go to the Obama campaign and ask them what they think of McCain going or not going after Obama.

Alot of newscasters, even on Fox, have been suggesting that it would be a negative for McCain to bring up Ayers tonight. Their reasoning is that everyone is only concerned with the economy at this time. I think there is ample time for different types of discussions. During the last debate with McCain/Obama, they changed the original forum to include the economy. Well, this time they can include other things as well.

He is believing the media, pundits and lying polls. If he doesn’t take Obama and the dems to the cleaners on the financial meltdown...I am giving up on him! There are better things to do with my time and money...especially if my candidate doesn’t have the courage to fight back and tell the truth about Obama and the Democrats to the American people.

The stakes for this country have never been greater.

This format doesn't lend itself to that, unless the question takes him there.
