PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE #2 LIVE THREAD
10/07/08

Posted on 10/07/2008 2:01:24 PM PDT by TornadoAlley3

While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.

I agree, Mac just as Sarah did spoke to us in clear terms we could understand.

0 went around in circles. I don’t know what that focus group was listening to, I just do not understand what is wrong with people. They liked his healthcare plan better???
Sheesh, the govt will screw it up royally.......do they think it’s free is that it?

How comforting! We’re facing difficult economic times and a dangerous world and we’re going forward with one of these two boobs as our leader. Buckle up folks, it’s going to be a rough ride.

That's why he backed the bailout. To be fair, Warren Buffett didn't become the world's richest man for nothing. But I can think of better choices for Treasury Secretary.

" also - i don’t believe for a second that these people are UNCOMMITTED. It is BS designed to shape the opinions of the viewers at home. "
Exactly... thats what I was thinking listening to the debate on the car radio while coming home.
It's BS that so many are either undecided or uncommitted...

And the stupid get to vote, just like us.

The way the media was disppointed over him NOT attacking Obama made the whole thing almost seem like a set up. I tink the media was all ready for wall to wall criticism of McCain for attacking Obama, and when he did not, they almost seemd as if they did not know what to say or talk about.

And I think that Sen. McCain's campaign is trying to keep the Obama camp (the MSM and his campaign) off-guard.

The guy who said McCain didn’t answer the questions is a liar with a capital L. Goes well with his idol, Barry “Green ears” Obama.

NoVa has been ruined by a combination of high level government employees, latte sipping government contractors, affluent LEGAL immigrants who buy into the Dems spin that Republicans are “racist white Christians.” Let’s not forget the influx of people from Montgomery County, MD.

This was NOT a town hall debate. Brokaw just picked from the 100’s of questions whatever he wanted to ask. He definitely was trying to ask questions to help out Obama.

What a farce. Just randomly pick people and let them ask their questions.

The question itself is useless. No politician EVER answers such a question.

McCain did ok, but my answer would be "Our Founding Fathers, inspired by God, created the greatest nation in the history of the world. If we just follow their ideals, I don't know how it can fail. The only way I might learn that would be if you, Sen. Biden, Sen. Harry Reid and Speaker Pelosi were granted the power to surrender that legacy."

ROFL!!!

Well, that's an 1 1/2 hours of my life that I'll never get back. It was boring and probably changed no one's mind. I think William Kristol nailed it...he said Brokaw, by the questions he chose to be asked, killed the townhall debate format.
