Cafardi literally shocked the pro-Life community when he, like Kmiec, endorsed Barrack Obama. The candidate's record on the fundamental human rights issue of our age, the right to life for every human person from conception to natural death, is completely antithetical to the teaching of the Catholic Church as well as to the Natural law which both Cafardi and Kmiec purported to champion.

I knew Cafardi when he was an assistant Dean at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He was the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s foremost canon lawyer and, other than the occasional bout with narcolepsy, seemed a reasonable guy. I find support for Obama not in character. The academic seems to have overcome the canon lawyer in him.

“Despite what some Republicans would like Catholics to believe, the list of what the church calls “intrinsically evil acts” does not begin and end with abortion”

I bet this is a simple matter of attorneys sticking behind the Democratic candidate even at the cost of his soul. At least he has resigned.

Everyone has choices to make. In this case his was the the Catholic teachings of Christ vs. the Obama values (or the lack thereof). Glad he put his card on the table.

Definitely a CINO.

Real Catholics vote for life. Life comes before liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

No life — nothing else follows.

This asks the cutting edge question: “Does a Catholic who votes for or supports Obama remain a Catholic?”

The ramifications of that question is a fierce declaration of faith, perhaps unmatched except in nations where it is a death sentence to declare oneself a Catholic.

It could almost reach the realm where Obama is so anti-ethical to the Catholic faith that he approaches being *an* Antichrist. Importantly, not *the* Antichrist, but that he worships at the altar of death, as an acolyte of the Antichrist. As repulsive to the Catholic church as the cult of Santa Muerte and the ancient pagans who practiced human sacrifice.

This would require the Catholic church to declare:

1) That Obama is abhorrent to the church.
2) That to support or vote for Obama is to turn from the faith.
3) That to support or vote for Obama is to reject the Communion of Christ, to reject the sacraments of the Church, and to reject the Catechism of the Catholic church.
4) That it calls on the other Orthodox churches to stand with the western church, and likewise renounce what is abhorrent to the faith and doctrines of all.
5) That Obama stands apart from the rejection of politicians who embrace beliefs anti-ethical to the church, because he vies to become “king” of a Christian nation. He becomes not only abhorrent in his beliefs, but abhorrent as a man. Christians cannot accept or honor his rule over them. He jeopardizes all Americans as a nation.

And their is precious little time for the Catholic church to make this announcement.

A new revival of A Man For All Seasons opens this week on Broadway starring Frank Langella . . . and if you are unable to see it during its NY run, Dr. Cafardi, you can always rent the magnificent 1966 Academy Award winning movie starring the late Paul Scofield . . . before its too late!
