Sarah Palin is a phenomenon. She is plucky and, in a winsome way, in your face. Referring to middle class America as Joe-Six-Pack and to herself as a hockey mom, she debated last week with veteran Senator Joe Biden, who has served in the Senate for 36 years and knows his way around Washington.
I admire Sarah Pain's spunkiness and feel she has not been treated fairly by the media which has tried to make her look foolish and provincial. When she was interviewed by Charles Gibson and asked the question, "Do you agree with the Bush Doctrine?" I thought it unfair.
Why? I consider myself to be knowledgeable on foreign affairs and I did not know what the Bush Doctrine referred to until later when it was described as support for preemptive military action. However, that term Bush Doctrine has also been applied to other policies of the administration.

If someone called Hillary spunky anyone want to guess what the reaction would be?
I HATE spunk!
Gov. Palin promised honesty and to clean up corruption. Democrat politicians and their henchpersons in the Corrupt Newsmedia immediately dispatched an army of their operatives to Alaska to dig up dirt on her.
They will do anything to stop her.
They will do anything to prevent honesty and the clean-up of corruption.
Their reasons are obvious.
One of the best TV lines, ever. Lou Grant was one of my favorite TV characters, ever. Pity about the actor. But isn’t that often the case?
you naughty boy!
Poor Ed Koch. He’s kind of a political pariah anywhere he goes.
The Klinton’s must have taken Koch to the woodshed for his endorsement of O.
The best definition of the Bush Doctrine is summed up by his statement immediately after 9/11: "we will make no distinction between those who carried out these attacks and the nations that give them harbor."
However, the Bush Doctrine has also at times referred to Bush's foreign policy approach toward obsolete treaties like SALT II (a treaty with a non-existent USSR) and toward unratified agreements such as the KYOTO accord, i.e. the United States will not subject itself to agreements that are counter to the best interest of the US. Additionally, the Bush Doctrine could be described with his statement that the US will not submit to asking the UN for permission to protect itself. The preemptive strike aspect of the "Bush Doctrine" is probably the fourth or fifth best description or summary of what is meant by the "Bush Doctrine".
I thought Koch was skeered of her. The book banning smear.
I only wish he had actually lived up to that rhetoric more fully. It turned out to be a nice thought.
I liked it when she said “maverick” one last time to provide excitement for the drinking game playing watchers. ;-)
I wish Palin were running for president.
The MSM absolutely hates common sense - not taught in liberal arts colleges and universities.
She's got plenty of time for that after a four year stint as VP. :=)
Yes. One step at a time. Right now, she’s working for John McCain and our country, and making a great job of it.
She is much too attractive, principled and rooted, more than a phenom, she is an archetype.
(with punct.)
