Sen. Joseph Biden was illogical on the matter of gay rights.
Look, in an Obama-Biden administration, there will be absolutely no distinction from a constitutional standpoint or a legal standpoint between a same-sex and a heterosexual couple, Biden said in answer to a question about whether he supported equal benefits for same-sex couples.
He went on to invoke the Constitution three more times.
The fact of the matter is that under the Constitution.... same-sex couples should be able to have visitation rights in the hospitals, joint ownership of property, life insurance policies, et cetera. That's only fair. And, It's what the Constitution calls for. And so we do support it. We do support making sure that committed couples in a same-sex marriage are guaranteed the same constitutional benefits as it relates to their property rights, their rights of visitation, their rights to insurance, their rights of ownership as heterosexual couples do.
Biden cannot actually mean what he says -- because the implications of his statement contradicts his (and Barack Obamas) asserted position opposing marriage for same-sex couples. (They support civil unions, which Biden forgot to mention.)

Of course he means what he says. Since when have Obama/Biden honored their prior commitments?
So now we know - they're just gonna keep beating the dead straw man.
Notice how they always say “Same sex” instead of HOMOSEXUAL. Talk about euphemisms!
That’s not the right usage of strawman.
You’re right....I have abuse of strawmen.
With all the editing done on the Couric interview, there is no telling what Katie said to Palin that was edited out. I'm sure she was extremely condescending in the parts that were edited out.
Yes, the Palin interview with Cameron was fab - she was as real in that interview as I think one could be. She literally (and figuratively) let her hair down.
Have you read the comments on You Tube with this video? I think it has been taken over by DU. I had to stop after only a few - they are ugly!

Absolutely great moment! All the little down-homeisms that Sarah Palin brings NATURALLY to this election cycle is what reaches out to people. I loved it when she gave “a shout out,” to her brother’s 3rd grade class and told them they get extra credit for stayin’ up to watch the debate. Just a really nice touch.
At the end of the day, what I like most about her (and what has literally dragged me over to casting my vote for McCain) is that she is not like THEM (not like Dems, Repubs, life-long politicians, MSM-types, Hollywood, elitists, etc.) She is like the average American—like me (no boasting in that intended).
The whole notion of changing the way Washington works is exactly what this election needs to be about. The bail-out, the $700 billion farce, the way that it was arrived at should prove to all that our political leaders are and ever have been flying by the seat of their pants when it comes to OUR money and OUR resources. If they had to put up 1/3 - 1/2 of all THEIR money/all their savings—if they had to stake THEIR financial lives on what they were voting on, I daresay we would have had a much more thoughtful, deliberative process take place. But because it was OUR money and not THEIRS, they were able to ‘FIX’ the problem quickly. So, now, the ‘FIX’ is in! Isn’t it funny how Pres. Bush has been continally harrangued about “rushing” into war (he took almost a year before he committed troops) while this bailout, which uses astronomical AMERICAN TAXPAYER resources is “deliberated” for 1 week! If that doesn’t dramatize the problem here, I don’t know what does.
I don’t think McCain passes the sniff-test on this, by the way. Sarah Palin sure does. So, her wink, her “youbetcha” her “doggoneit” her “Say it ain’t so, Joe” all work for me—She sounds so different from THEM.
We have TWO “professors” on the Democrat ticket this year.
For obscure reasons, these professorial types tend to think they have enough expertise in the nuances of government, that they should be beyond any question of their authority.
The attitude was demonstrated most amply in the first “modern” Democrat President, Woodrow Wilson. He was an autocratic despot, insisting on imposing his will on the majority, badgering the country into a war which he had declared the United States would never be involved in, then the principles of popular elections of Senators (rather than the previous Constitutional method of being selected by the state legislatures), the Federal income tax, and finally the worst experiment of all, Prohibition.
Now THERE was a man that brought “change” to America. Compare that with FDR (whose popularity was as much for bringing beer back to the public, as it was for all the other “reforms” put together), the Kennedy-Johnson years, the Carter years, and the regime of the “Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001”, who NEVER fulfilled the duties of the Presidential office. Not once. Most of them could not make a rational decision on the economy if they had to, unless there was overwhelming demand from the legislative branch and from the people for that change.
One exception, perhaps, was Harry S Truman, who was much more at the mercy of circumstances, and responded to them in a somewhat common sense manner, than most of his Democrat predecessors or successors. And he did it with the simple statement, “The buck stops here.”
The rest of them were past masters at prevarication, fabrication, deceit, and “misstatements”.
Expect a reprise of all the worst of the past hundred years if Obama-Biden DO become President and Vice President.
Count on it, John McCain is deliberately pulling his punches and NOT campaigning to be President of the United States.
America is SO screwed.
Biden twists himself into knots when he can’t even get the facts straight about what he supports.
One commenter actually said this,
“Please God, make Palin go away! “
Every Christian I know was praying to the God that (I suppose) this person was speaking of. We were all praying for her to stand firm, strong, poised, assured, at peace, quick, sharp, confident, in control.
Looks like she might be sticking around some. Youbetcha!
I heard some super snotty lib comment that saying that phrase proves she is not ready for the VP. I was surfing and came upon the middle of the discussion but I did catch that part. She was a dem strategist and was horrified in Palin using that phrase.
I channel-surfed after the debate over to MSNBC (a station I never tune in to) to see how they were going to parse the debate. Olbermann and Maddow were discussing how they would love to have the chance to debate Palin, how they would love to question her (”and, yes, Governor Palin, there will be follow up questions...”)—so full of self-importance, so full of self.
Absolutely jarring how elitist these folks are. One wonders how two of them can ever fit in the same room together!
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle nailed this sort of person in a throwaway line from one of the Sherlock Holmes stories: “Mediocrity knows nothing better than itself.”
Being at best of mediocre intellect themselves, despicable swine such as Olbermann and Maddow are unable to perceive that others are much, much smarter than they.
Left with differences of opinion to account for, they attribute them to their own superior intelligence and wisdom.
Libtards always presume themselves to be smarter than anyone to their right.
Another factor, of course, is Satan playing on their pride.
Sodomites and Lesbians................Same sex

I am unable and unmotivated to keep up with the invasion of politics through political correctness into my vocabulary. F__K them all. I am using the words I was brought up with, with no apologies.
I refuse to be redefined by the social engineering of American Fascism: political correctness.
I accept the entire History of our great nation, whether I think it good or bad. I do not , nor will I ever seek to correct what others see as historical wrongs. I wasn't even alive through most of it.
All Americans can pull up their boot straps, work hard, and be successful. Anything else is just an excuse not to.
F__K Obama, F__K Paulsen, and F__K Barney Franks. I am not playing their silly bi-partisan games any longer. The US government has become the enemy of the People after the Fraudulent Bail Out Vote contrary to the wishes of 90% of Americans. It has ruined the lives of millions of Americans who do not realize that yet.But they will over the next 30 days.
I support the Joint Chiefs of Staff taking control of our nation until after the election, and who need to oust Secretary Treasurer Paulsen and put him in jail.
She sounds so different from THEM.
Because she is U.S. As in us. You and me. And she has a natural intelectual/personality talent. Just give her 4 years as a VP and she will dominate the political landscape of the United States for decades!
