Former Massachusetts Governor Jane Swift was diplomatic, but her message was clear: because Sarah Palin remains doubtful of getting a fair shake from the MSM, she wants to take her message directly to the American people. Swift, speaking on behalf of the McCain-Palin campaign, made the remark in response to a question from this NewsBuster during the course of a conference call this afternoon.
Swift took the question after making opening remarks in which she said that Governor Palin won last night's debate in part because she was able to connect with Americans as "a person from the middle class who [expressed] the real anxieties that families have about our economy right now." After suggesting that Senator Biden didn't connect as well, Swift added that Biden made a significant number of incorrect statements "that kept the fact-checkers busy."
It was then that NewsBusters had the opportunity to pose its question.

Buy ad time.
Sarah wants to circumvent MSM filter, speak directly to Americans ping to Today show list.
With audio of governsleast asking question to Palin surrogate Jane Swift.
She shouldn’t give one more interview, EVER, where they can edit it before it is shown.
Yup. Buy ad time and pay very little, if no attention to Swift. She is a pinhead.
Call the media out. Challenge them to ask Obama the same questions they’re asking her.
If Jane Swift has any role in the McCain campaign besides making everyone else appear “swifter”, McCain is in deep trouble. She was an unmitigated disaster here in Massachusetts.
Say what you will, but exActingGov Swift is out there
defending Gov. Palin, unlike the RomneyBOTs who have
been attacking her.
Hold press conferences and stump speeches at every opportunity. Better yet, make full use of the New Media. Sarah could be hitting talk radio and be giving exclusive interviews to everyone from National Review to HotAir and the major conservative blogs. I think it’s because Maverick John is still piqued at the eight years worth of brickbats hurled at him from that quarter that he won’t let her go whole hog.
Seriously, why not make weekly appearances on the Sean Show and El Rushbo? Because the sophistos will say mean things about you?
Note to McCain. I’ve stroked two small checks, one to the RNC and one to the Victory Fund since the end of the debate.
I’d be happy to do more if every commercial break was a fresh chance to see more of Sarah. Get her in some solo spots and let her do what she does best...
Agree 100%; the McCain/Palin should either not do any more interviews, have significant editorial input or bring along their own camera crews. What has been allowed to happen to Gov Palin is an atrocity.
Although I like your thinking here, the goal is to convince the undecideds. The conservative alternate media is rarely viewed by the undecideds. She needs to go where she can convince middle of the roaders that she is the gal!
You can do the interviews, but do them LIVE instead of taped where they can’t chop it up like the Perky One and Charlie did. That way you get the full context from the questioner and Sarah.
Congratulations, you just identified one of the GOP factions trying to destroy Sarah Palin. The is absolutely hated by the GOP establishment — because should she remain as popular as she now is, the good old boys will soon be gone old boys!
Forget the big MSM outlets, but by all means give generous interviews to the local NBC, CBS, ABC, and Fox affiliates in the battleground states. The local anchors and reporters are grateful, many of them are relatively decent people who appreciate her, and they are watched in the areas they serve, which will be important come election day.
Problem is the media won’t cover a lot of her public town hall meetings. I heard on Hannity that the movie American Carol isn’t playing in many theaters in N.Y.C. if that is true,it confirms my thoughts that the liberal media won’t cover Gov. Palin appearances(just my opinion)
She certainly was as gov, but her comments here are fine! (I admit I had qualms when I saw her name!)
If I were Palin I’d fill up a bunch of YouTube videos. And cross link the videos with an ad that points to them.
That would be one way to get some really good exposure because she could have full expression of her point of view without condescending know-it-all newsies.
Agreed, Dio. Some of the Mittens over at NRO are not readable anymore. I hope that the McCain/Palin camp is taking names...
Thanks for the link to Biden’s 14 lies. Also, I heard on Howie Carr re his reference to “Katy’s” (another proof of what a regular guy he is!) — Katy’s hasn’t been there in about 15 years!
