I wouldn't contribute a dime to them. Instead - donate to candidates who stand for conservative values. The party leadership won't.

Okay, I know I shouldn’t ask, but how does a toolbar raise money for them without it costing me anything?

They get paid by Yahoo per "hit" to the site.

After they way the GOP and their Dem allies in the House and Senate just stabbed us in the back with that monstrosity of a Wall Street bailout bill, they won't get one thin dime from me! All the tax money I send in to finance this bailout will be their contribution.

Take this download somewhere else and offer it to someone who is gullible enough to believe the GOP is still a good thing.

Dear RNC,

I'd love to help you raise funds, but instead I need to save my dollars for the BIG F***ING TAX HIKE you just helped hand me.

It's a FreeCause toolbar, branded by the GOP.

There's nothing stopping the Libertarian, Objectivist, or Galambosian factions from creating their own - except the approval of FreeCause. Give it a go, if you want to.

Now, the Privacy Policy:

We are committed to the privacy and security of our users. Our software is safe to install and use: it is unobtrusive, easy to deactivate and remove, and does not transmit any information in a manner that can identify a user. Unidentifiable statistics are sent to our system regarding usage of toolbar features. The statistics are anonymous and do not contain personal identification. We do not match individual users with their specific Web or toolbar usage. FreeCause Toolbar does not contain any spyware, adware, or malware.

I couldn't find a legalese privacy policy (maybe it's available when you install?), but I didn't look that hard. Nothing too alarming.

You mean Google/Yahoo? Will this mean the 2 forces will be combining efforts to spy on Republican fundraising efforts? /s

It’s an interesting concept, but I hate toolbars. I’ll have to think about it.

This isn’t all that great of an idea. Yahoo just wants to log more detailed information on conservatives to use against us.

No they didn't. Dems only had 172 Yeas. They needed 40 some odd Reps to vote Yea and they got 91.
