"Longtime Democrat Toby Keith is registering to vote as an independent and says the left wing's verbal attacks against Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin could lead to a win for John McCain in November, the singer-songwriter said Thursday (Oct. 2) in an interview with CMT.com."
"I've been a lifetime Democrat, and I'm re-registering this year as an independent," he said. "It's strictly [because] my party, that I've been affiliated with all these years, doesn't stand for anything that I stand for anymore. They've lost any sensibility that they had, and they've allowed all the kooks in, so I'm going independent."

There are probably lots of "good" Democrats out there, but they have been marginalized and silenced by the hard left which now controls the party.
Don’t worry there are plenty of liberals in country music to make up for Toby: Willie Nelson, Sugarland, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill are just a few who’ve lost my business due to their embrace of the Marxist party (aka Democrat).
LOL.
He did come out for Fauxbama, and now he’s come to his senses.
Keith just noticed that we are at war with the terrorists.
Wonder what all those Hannity rallies were all about.
Silly me, I thought they were to raise funds for children of killed in action troops.
YEAH!!!! My favorited new country singer is coming over the the real world. He is like alot of long time Democrats. He finally has seen his party is made up of leftist and he does NOT support that crap.
The same guy who let the dogs out.
Keith endorsed Berry and NOW he has a problem? Better late than never I guess.
“Keith just noticed that we are at war with the terrorists.”
I take it you don’t listen to country music much.
My comment referred to his comment that he just noticed that he doesn’t agree with the dem philosophy.
At one time I considered voting for Obama. McCain is my senator and I have had no strong love for him. It was different when it looked like a race between two liberals. When it became between a liberal and a socialist, I had to go with McCain. I have known people who were for Obama and changed their minds over the company he keeps.
So what?
