Dr Akinola, the Primate of Nigeria and a leader of traditionalists worldwide, said the alleged offences of bestiality in south London showed how "spiritual degradation" was destroying the country's soul.
He also claimed the advent of civil partnerships for homosexual couples showed that politicians are "upturning the natural order" and doing away with God and family life.
Dr Akinola referred to the alleged farmyard sex crimes in an important speech to the General Synod of the Church of Nigeria, the 18 million-strong church's governing body, last month.
He said: "As a church we cannot but continue to decry the disturbing level of moral decadence and spiritual degradation eating deep into the soul of western societies.
"In the United Kingdom, all through Europe and in an ever-increasing number of states in America, legislators make laws to upturn the natural order and throw God away from the public domain.
"Marriage and family life as we know them in the word of God have been jettisoned.
"People of the same sex are legally permitted to marry. Parents' right to discipline their children is legally denied, the age of discretion that used to be 21 has been lowered to 18 and there are efforts at reducing it to 16 if not 14.
"As if these are not bad enough, only last week the Tell magazine reported in its 36th edition on page 12 that a 27-year-old man was arrested for having sex with a sheep in Dulwich, south-east London."

I assume you meant Rowan WILLIAMS or are you being funny here? Rowan Atkinson is an entirely different person...
LOL! “This is Mrs. Bencours, one of my patients. She thinks she’s a sheep.”
Ah, Vermont... my neighboring state. Home of moonbats, sodomites, and Ben and Jerry’s.
"Hey! McLeod! Get Off Of My Ewe!"
Bill for new keyboard and monitors is on it’s way.
I have torn up the internet looking for the ‘Aggie and his date on the way to the game’ photo, but no luck.
This will have to do:
A redneck, a sheep, and a dog were survivors of a terrible shipwreck. They found themselves stranded on a desert island.
After being there a while, they got into the habit of going to the beach every evening to watch the sun go down. One particular evening, the sky was red with beautiful cirrus clouds, the breeze was warm and gentle; a perfect night for romance. As they sat there, the sheep started looking better and better to the redneck. Soon, he leaned over to the sheep and put his arm around it. But the dog got jealous, growling fiercely until the redneck took his arm from around the sheep. After that, the three of them continued to enjoy the sunsets together, but there was no more cuddling.
A few weeks passed by, and lo and behold, there was another shipwreck. The only survivor was a beautiful young woman, the most beautiful woman the redneck had ever seen. She was in a pretty bad way when they rescued her, so they slowly nursed her back to health.
When the young maiden was well enough, they introduced her to their evening beach ritual. It was another beautiful evening: red sky, cirrus clouds, a warm and gentle breeze; perfect for a night of romance. Pretty soon, the redneck started to get “those feelings” again.
He fought them as long as he could, but he finally gave in and leaned over to the young woman, cautiously, and whispered in her ear...
“Would you mind terribly taking the dog for a walk?”
bring on in da sheep!
bring on in da sheep!
we shall come rejoicing
bring on in da sheep!

I can understand not liking Mr. Bean ... he's surely not to everybody's taste. But "servant of Lucifer"??? Do you think maybe you're overreacting a bit?
Perhaps this is the fellow he's so upset about ...
You’re right...I meant Rowan Williams.
(I really don't have much to contribute to this discussion)

Apparently his politics leans left.................
LOL! I’m inclined to agree.
Mr. Atkinson has in fact contributed some sensible, thoughtful criticism of hate-speech laws-- specifically the 2005 "Racial And Religious Hatred Bill" in the UK Parliament.
Among his comments: "The freedom to criticise ideas, any ideas, even if they are sincerely held beliefs, is one of the fundamental freedoms of society, and a law which attempts to say you can criticise and ridicule ideas as long as they are not religious ideas is a very peculiar law indeed."
I have MUCH more respect for him than that bearded poltroon, +++++Rowan Cantuar, primus inter stulti.

Thank you ... there is indeed much to respect in that statement, and in the rest of his comments quoted in the article.
Sheep lie!
