Sauerberg Urges Free Market Solutions Opposes Welfare for Wall Street
Steve Sauerberg, M.D. I wont join Dick Durbin and the rest of the career politicians in Washington as they try to soak the American taxpayers for a trillion dollars. We need free market solutions that will strengthen our economy, not welfare for Wall Street.
(Lombard, IL) Today, Republican Senate nominee Steve Sauerberg, M.D., urged leaders in Washington to turn to free market solutions to end the current economic crisis. I wont join Dick Durbin and the rest of the career politicians in Washington as they try to soak the American taxpayers for a trillions dollars, said Sauerberg. We need free market solutions that will strengthen our economy, not welfare for Wall Street.
Nationalizing our nations financial industry is not the solution to the challenges facing our economy today, continued Sauerberg. While the federal government can and should play a role in ending this crisis, its role should be a limited one. Taxpayer dollars should be seen as an absolute last option. The bottom line is that a trillion dollar blank check written on the backs of todays taxpayers and future generations of taxpayers is simply too much.
Sauerberg urged Congress to emphasize free market solutions, instead of focusing on government handouts. We need market-based reforms and free market solutions that will strengthen our economy and create stability in the financial markets, said Sauerberg.
Specifically Sauerberg urged a temporary repeal of the capital gains tax; an end to mark-to-market accounting; an acceleration of depreciation; reinstituting the uptick rule; and a cut in the corporate tax rate.
Bigger government, a crushing tax burden and welfare for Wall Street isnt the answer. Now is the time for Washington to stop asking taxpayers to stop footing the bill for their mistakes and for the mistakes of those on Wall Street. We need to work together to find solutions to this crisis that reflect the genius of our free market system, concluded Sauerberg.
I wish he was my Senator!
Well stated.
I wish he was my Senator!
Me, too. Sadly, I live in NY. :(
Sensenbrenner gets it too....
Washington, DC, Sep 29, 2008
Menomonee Falls Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner issued the following statement today on his NO vote on HR 3997, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008:
I am voting NO on the bill the House will vote on later today because it will subsidize Wall Street on the backs of hard working taxpayers and small businesses on Main Street.
To put it plainly, this legislation will not work. It will put an unbelievable amount of taxpayer money at risk, and penalize those who used common sense during a time when others elected to ignore reason by making decisions that led them to live beyond their means. It is unfair and irresponsible to ask conscientious taxpayers to now shoulder the burden and debt of those with poor foresight.
Moreover, the federal government has no business injecting itself into the free market system, and essentially, taking it over. This completely defeats the purpose of such a system, and will have a chilling effect on future businesses that may think twice about entering the market if they have to compete with the American government. This is contrary to the spirit of American entrepreneurialism that is the foundation of our nation, and would turn our American Dream into an American Nightmare.
Senator Jim DeMint expressed the same thing to Mark Levin last evening. He just plain made way to much sense. He was realistic that his free-market solutions would not pass nor see the light of day. They had been tried by the Conservatives and rejected by the Democrats and wil continue to be rejected by the Democrats.
We need to purchase lots of tar, feathers and rails....but unfortunately I can’t get credit to make the transactions! :(
Steve is Right. And History of Japans credit crisis in the 1990s supports him and those who have similar thinking.

NO BAILOUT
The bailout is simply the politics of delay past the Nov. 4 election, so the crisis will not fully bloom and influence the election cycle, to the loss of millons of dollars invested in the campaigns.
No BAILOUT.

In summary:
Steve Sauerberg is a career medical doctor who has no experience or political record for the nations highest legislative office. On the issues, he supports keeping abortion legal, favors gun control measures like the assault weapons ban, pro-gay rights, pro-UN, supports federal involvement in health care, welcomes free trade (even with communist nations), supports tax cuts, favors off shore drilling, is pro-WOT, believe in global warming, opposes the bailout, is vaguely against blanket amnesty, supports the department of education and NOLB, and is open to confirming just about anyone, regardless of ideology.
Chad Koppie is a retired senior jumbo jet captain and farmer who has long been active in politics -- having held both elected and appointed office -- and is well qualified to be U.S. Senator, with a record of proven leadership. On the issues, he is unabashedly 100% pro-life, strongly supports 2nd amendment rights, opposes the gay agenda, strongly believes in U.S. sovereignty, opposes the feds being involved in health care and education, is strongly in favor of tax cuts and spending reductions, favors off shore drilling and ANWR, is pro-WOT, opposes the cult of global warming, opposes the bailout, is clearly against amnesty, and has promised to vote to confirm ONLY originalist and strict constructionist judges.
Which one would you want replacing Durbin and representing us in the U.S. Senate?
