The Saginaw home that hit the housing market at a cut-rate price sold Wednesday for less than the price of a McDonald's value meal.
The abandoned home on 1606 Perkins received eight bids on eBay.com and sold for $1.75.
The high bidder was 30-year-old Joanne Smith of Chicago.
''I am going to try to sell it,'' she said of the house. ''I don't have any plans to move to Saginaw. I don't have any plans of moving from (Chicago).''

Considering the part of Saginaw where this house is located, I think she got ripped off.
To: Darren McCarty
A rip off. I say this coming from a place where the same house in the Trenton ghetto would still go for $180K.

I wonder how much is owed in back-taxes, which she will be held responsible for. Also outstanding leans could present a big problem. I hope she’s incorporated. It might not have been that great a deal.

Yet not one of the millions of Renos Tent people could afford to buy that 1.75 house.

The high bidder was 30-year-old Joanne Smith of Chicago.
Bet she being in obogoland was able to get the 1.75 from ACRON and can now vote twice.

I wonder how much is owed in back-taxes Not to EPA-approved cleanup of some leaking oil tank...
To: Darren McCarty
She probably can’t even get a mortgage on it.

Any banks holding mortgages in the area will now have to mark the assets to market.

I'd take Trenton's ghetto over Saginaw's East Side if I had to pick one. Saginaw's murder rate is 7th in the country. There's a reason why nobody paid $2 for that house.

Must be a fine piece of property:
“The house has had at least a half-dozen owners since 1999, the Saginaw Area Geographic Information System Authority indicates on its Web site. Carolyn Malone purchased it for $2,000 in April 1999. Other owners include Church on the Rock; Saginaw County treasurer; RNR Investments, which bought it for $400 in December 2006; and Adam Walls, who bought it for $10 in January 2007. Southern Investments paid $26 in January 2008”

I'm quite frankly surprised that AC was higher than Camden. Maybe because so many people have fled Camden, that there is not many folks around to shoot anymore. Camden and Chester down the river have many blocks that look like this:

Person from Newark: "Yeah, its awful here, but at least it isn't Trenton."
Person from Trenton: "Yeah, its awful here, but at least it isn't Camden."
Person from Camden: "You took my pipe, now you're going to die!"
