The dirtbag not only wore the uniform, he wore battlefield decorations - including the Silver Star.
He should have gotten prison time.

That's what ticked me off about the movie Wedding Crashers, when the main characters wore Purple Hearts to get some _______.

What about homeless panhandlers with signs that say “disabled vet” or “veteran” when the panhandler is not a veteran?

They had a case right here in Arizona where a "homeless vet" got all kinds of bleeding heart publicity on the local TV station. He was heralded as a "community organizer" for vets. That is until they asked him if he was a vet. When he said yes to a Gunny, he got the most obvious question "What units and where?"
Can you guess what happened next?

Watch it. He earned those ribbons at the battle of Katrina.

I am inclined to think that bad things eventually happen to people who use military decorations in a fraudulent fashion.
Some people call it Karma.
I prefer to call it Divine Intervention.
Don't worry. They will all get theirs in the end.

Oh for goodness sakes. The man wore a uniform and tricked it out with medals. What is the problem. Lots of people wear reenactor clothing with medals.
I am a Christian and I see some pretty horrific people wearing a cross, but I dont hyperventilate.

This is what Rush would refer to as a “phony soldier”.(I know, he was a phony sailor, but it makes the same point).

Cause you just don’t do it. Medals are reserved for those that earned them, not those that get off on the glory, or those that lie about their service for fame or money. I know a couple guys who never served who like to speak in quasi military jargon on occasion. I never served either and sometimes remind them that they have not earned the right to talk the talk cause they didn’t walk the walk.

Wearing a cross is not illegal. Impersonating an officer and wearing medals under false pretenses are both illegal. Morally wrong as well. This is not a case of a John Lennon wearing a field jacket with sergeant’s stripes on the Dick Cavett show. This jerk was pretending to be a US Navy Captain. He should have got hard time.

I swear I think you have to be trying to pass yourself off as legit.
Unless he’s pretending to be in Gen. Gaylord’s Homosexual Battalion (they’re *very* disciplined) or something...

I wonder if this is the same guy I knew a few years ago. He had a full Navy Captain’s uniform, and would put a VIP sign on his dashboard so he could park where ever he wanted. He used to go to strip bars like that to impress the strippers.
I figured he was a poser the day I saw him in full dress whites with a full beard and mustache. Apparently he didn’t get the memo that was no longer allowed in the Navy.

This nimrod wore a First SF Group flash on a 75th Infantry Regiment (Ranger) beret, with a USAF T-shirt and rolled his sleeves like a Marine.
He should have his ass kicked every day for the rest of his pathetic life.
