Now the problem is, this "economic crises" is going to drag out for weeks and weeks and we may not get the bill we want. In Fact, by the time a new bill is offered, the stuff that the GOP negotiated out might be back in. By then the GOP might be willing to vote for anything.
What is the new strategy? Has anyone thought that far in advance.
I don't like this bill, but I like 4 years of Obama even less.
I think its just the opposite, if mccain is smart the acorn ads and clintons remarks on mtp yesterday (where he says that dems should have heeded repub warnings on fannie and freddie) would be running by prime time tonight
Yep, we are doomed.
Ask the 95 Democrats that caused the bill to fail. Are you buying into the “it’s the GOP’s fault” crap?
Hate to say it but if the nation implodes and goes to socialism I’d rather hang it on Obama and the Dems than have the GOP vote for it.
No bailout.
The short answer is yes.
Somehow, some way, McCain and Palin MUST get the truth out. It is on our side!!!!! Heads should be rolling and resignations should be sought from the perpetrators of this “crisis.”
I’m wondering who was the wise ass who started this a month before the election. Paulson has done this for O IMO......
What is this? So if the bailout had passed 0bama would win? Now that it hasn’t 0bama will win? Come on, seriously. You should be motivated to ensure that he stays away from the White House.
You’re essentially saying we should accept a socialist bill which turns the credit markets over to the govt in exchange for getting John McCain as President? No thanks.
Do you think we might have been set up here? I bet they come back with the Bolshevik bill they wanted all along in a few days. Until then, they will let the MSM beat on the GOP, McCain and Palin in order to prime the public for the revolution.

I agree with you 100% on Paulson did this on purpose with his friends on Wall Street.
McCain’s initial press release after this failed was very good laying the blame on Obama, Reid, Pelosi. We need to keep hammering that home. It was a bi-partisan defeat!
Unfortunately, I can see it happening. The media will pin it entirely on the House Republicans and McCain.
Even though this bill sucks, the media is making it seem like a doomsday scenario. Those that now see it as a bad bill (I think that 65% of people think it is now) will start to change their minds after the mass hysteria built up by the media, and the corresponding fall in the market.
Then, everyone will see that its all because of the evil House Republicans. They will lose 20 more House seats and will lose a couple more Senate seats. The media will spin this to make it look like only the Obamalamadingdong can save us now.
“if mccain is smart”
Well there’s your problem right there!
The crisis was timed and manipulated for September. It is election year politics of the worst sort. Paulson should be forced to resign.
God left us on this one friend.
The timing of this Wall street Crisis 6 weeks before the election with McCain ahead in the polls?
I feel like a Warrior of God who just lost a battle.
Socialism is too high a price to pay to win the white house.
We could lose the election, but a better question to be asked would be, “Were we going to win the election because the bill passed?”
I believe the answer to that question was no, especially with Pelosi and her minions in the MSM spinning the need for a bill as the Republican’s fault.
McCain has dropped in the polls since the whole economy issue came up because they’ve succeeded in pinning it on Republicans, and yet the bill was so unpopular with the electorate that it was a lose/lose situation for McCain, IMHO.
If we lose, it won’t be because they did or didn’t pass the bill because even if they had passed it, McCain would have gotten none of the credit, only blame.
If McCain plays this smart, it can be to his advantage.
