Sen. Joe Biden hit Western Pennsylvania today -- Greensburg specifically -- with his first visit to the area since the Democratic National Convention.
Before he began his morning speech, Biden had to compose himself while recalling a gift of two footballs (signed by former Steeler Rocky Bleier) given by late Steelers founder Art Rooney to Biden's two boys in 1972, when they were recuperating from a traffic accident that killed his wife and daughter.
Biden recalled the story after he was introduced by Rooney's son, Dan.

“Let’s all lay down for Art”....sorry, I am also a Steeler fan.
Gratuitous “Sensitive” Speech? Check!
Looks like Jimmy Swaggart in that photo.
Did he tearfully re-tell the lie about his wife being killed by a “drunken” truck driver? And when is the mainstream media going to call him on this outrageous and offensive lie?
I hate the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Biden was a Steelers fan until they moved to Pittsburgh.
Biden is such a poser.
I’d cry if Rocky Blier (or Franco Harris) gave me a dirt clod.
Well, it worked for Hillary!
: )
It’s fishy. On an earlier swing through Pittsburgh, he recalled the same story. He mentioned that Rooney delivered two signed footballs from the “World champion Steelers”. The problem is, the Steelers did not win their first championship until after the 1974 season. In 1972, they were merely an up-and-coming team that was finaly emerging from 40 years of futility.
Maybe the Steelers just sent him a nice email...in 1972. (snicker)
Shouldn’t Plugs be back in Washington and actually voting for soemething??
Maybe Biden just knew they’d be champs soon
Oh, was that the accident caused by the drunk driver, or the one caused by his wife swerving into a truck because she was distracted by the children in the car.
Biden took a play out of the Hillary book.
Franco Harris once gave me an accidental elbow to the temple in a crowded bar. I didn’t cry, but boy I did see stars.

And in Green Bay, he claimed that he was a Packer fan. At home, his wife says that they are lifelong Eagle fans. Old Joe also claims to be Giants fan and a Colts fan until they moved from Baltimore.
He probably watched the Super Bowl in 1972 on his cell phone, text messaging George Halas plays to run.
Every time Old Joe opens his mouth, a thousand people move out of Delaware, in shame.
Did he say that his grandfather used to watch the Steelers play on television back in the 1920s?
Ha! Biden with 40 days left will easily have a hundred gaffes by then.
