Harry Reid (D-NV) thinking the public and Senate are both distracted by the Paulson plan to bailout Wall Street intends to sneak the drilling ban back in the continuing resolution.
He is doing it right now.

I met Hinchey once, quite a few years ago. Hinchey struck me, and still does, as the kinda guy who could sleep comfortably on a corkscrew.

I am from that state due north of ya’ll, but called Martinez since I just saw him last week at the McCain rally in Jax ; } The staffer who answered ever so efficiently cut me off mid sentence, in order to “help me” connect to my reps...I interjected that I had already done that, Thank you. but I had already been dismissed >:(
Shakes head, and I was being nice! Lol! Clearly she is one that believes we should vote, and then shut up... Not a chance, sweetheart. I have a LOT of family and friends in Florida, HAVE lived there before, and may again ; p

Dingy Harry is MY senator and the liberal squirrels at his office won’t even talk to me anymore. They aren’t from Nevada and have never been to Nevada (except maybe the Strip) so they don’t have any idea what I’m talking about other than that i’m spitting mad at Harry and I’m willing to take it out on anybody who wants to defend him.
THey are currently pushing all calls over to voicemail to avoid the flaming.
Reid’s office is getting barraged with calls about this. They aren’t confirming or denying but all of the calls are coming AGAINST the ban.

I called Cornyn and Hutchison. We have to watch her on immigration, but I think she is OK on drilling.

OK, I finally got into Sen Inhofe’s office phone line. Gave the girl the scoop. She reacted as if it were previously unknown to her.
I asked her to pass on the message that he should do what he can to stop it.
If he’s going to sneak the drilling ban into the bailout resolution, then go ahead and tack in an abortion ban and a protection against “hush rush” legislation.
Did you try Coburn too? He likes to thwart Reid.
Yep. Puts a new light on old Harry telling McCain to just tell the Republicans to get on board with the bailout — and oh, BTW, he wasn’t needed in DC to muck up the process either.
Done and Done. Neither of my Senators are big on the “bailout” bill anyway. (Sen. Bunning is a great asset to KY Conservatives).

Corker is one of the Gang of 10-16-20 ....
An aid was here last week and said he was against drilling in ANWR...
That was my first call. Go up-thread for my description of that call.
BTW, the girls on the phones for both Coburn and Inhofe are absolutely delightful. I should call more often.
